Company announcement, what could it be?

In your experiences, when you have been told there is a company announcement, what has it turned out to be?

I'm currently off work, but have been told there is an announcement tomorrow and that I must attend unless it's absolutely impossible that I can't.

My first thought is redundancies. What else could it be?

I my experience, those announcements have been CEO by r other very snr staff 'leaving' (fired), criminal investigation, corporate investigation, major company change eg merger, and yes, redundancies (bit less often than the one others!)

Does anyone else find this sort of thread the worst? Nothing to do with the OP - it's all these 'guessers' who CBA to read all the OP posts and waste everyone's time still guessing 8 pages after the OP has answered the question!

Yes, it's unbearably frustrating! It's also days and days since she originally posted, the meeting has clearly already happened, yet posters continue to respond as if it's still happening tomorrow morning....
