So I love to watch baking videos and whatnot. They're always making like 2 dozen massive muffins or 20 cookies or whatever.

When do these all get eaten?? Am I missing something? If I make 12 muffins, we (family of 3) will take maybe a week to eat them, maybe more. They often get frozen and used up eventually. But I always get the impression that we're "slow".

How long would 12 cookies, the size you might get in bakery supermarket last your family?

How big are those packs of biscuits that they are meant to last weeks when opened?

2 people eat them before I’m able to have one - four or five packs of E.g. Bourbon, Custard Cream, Hobnobs, Nice and shortbread so around 60+ biscuits! Piglets!

12 cookies?

2 or 3 days. And I live alone.

Cookies? they wouldn't get finished. Glazed doughnuts? 12 would be gone in two days. Family of four (husband and two massive teenage boys), I'd have one.

12 muffins 2 days as there's 6 of us

When I had 3 teens at home, we had to have RULES. Otherwise the whole lot would be eaten by the first 2 people to look in the tin.
So, basically, work out your share, 5 people 20 cupcakes, you get 4. Eat them all now or spread over the week.
so 4 of us eat them all on the first day. And dh saves his and eats them over a whole week.
Otherwise dh never got a look in!

I just made a carrot cake on Sunday, there are 3 of us at home now, and we have only eaten about 1/4 of it and I am suffering from missing my teens.

Some of these videos are filmed by a team and I'm guessing they would eat them. When my DC were living at home they could polish off a batch in no time, but I rarely bake now as we are quite large enough! I agree with others that you could simply make a smaller batch.

Is this like the mumsnet chicken where we all brag how long it takes us to eat cookies?

I hope so!

In our house, they'd be gone quickly, depending upon size. Three of us, probably two days (hoping I am not over estimating our restraint).

I have zero willpower when it comes to chocolate. I'm so happy I added it to MY food pyramid!😉😆
