I’ve seen similar threads re this but I’m just FUMING. It’s MAY and it’s still f*cking freezing cold.
I’ve just got up and gone to the coast, got out the car ran about half a K and turned around and come home in a strop.

Also- the heating has had to be on intermittently throughout April because I’ve got a 8month old.

I feel so friggen down with it, I fight SAD so hard during the winter months, wrap up get hiking even in the pouring rain.

We lived in aus for a few years and it’s just so much better weather wise, you can plan stuff, you can be outside even when you’re feeling sad and shit. Here’s just miserable 24/7 and it’s been winter for 7 months!

when you say “right before birth”… you were running at 9 months?!

Im a runner but very oddly i didn’t run from the day i found out pregnant. Can’t put my finger on it… just had no inclination to. Thought i’d never get back in to it. 10 months post birth i was well and truly back on it thank goodness!

Yes - I did this for baby 2 and 3 (and have some runner friends who did similar)! However for baby 1 I stopped in first trimester and didn’t return until three months postpartum (it was all a lot rougher that time). I think if you carry on doing what your body is accustomed to it’s easier in contrast to building back from ground zero!

what a difference a day makes!

Kent here and it’s utterly sublime… unbroken sun all day and warm!

I'm not a runner but my mood is massively affected by the weather and I'm really struggling. It's been such a slog. The cold doesn't bother me quite so much - dry, crisp cold days I actually enjoy. But grey, drizzle and rain constantly makes me want to hibernate.

We had three days of beautiful weather this weekend - warm enough to go for a walk in a T-shirt and cardi, and the cardi came off for a while, and my mood was so different. Today is grey, wet and miserable, although not cold, and I feel miserable again.

People can say about clothing etc, but it doesn't necessarily make it enjoyable. I dont know if running is meant to be enjoyable but if the weather is already making you feel miserable, it doesn't sound much fun at all.

Of course, living in Britain we should be used to it, but it doesn't make it any more fun.

I need to win the lottery and move somewhere hot and dry 😆

I'm with you @Overthebs I had a bike race yesterday and it took me nearly 2 hours to warm up from the wet and cold, especially miserable when travelling at speed, despite the best efforts of the dryrobe, the coffee and the car's heated seats. By the end there were many people struggling with fingers and toes. It was cold, it was wet, it was windy, the spray off the road was constant, it was generally miserable. It is essentially May. This weekend last year was shorts weather and sunny, without this chilling aggressive wind, as I did an event and my FB memories tell me all was well. I also did an event in the equivalent of 2 weeks time and that had an early start and was shorts and T-shirt. You can have all the pricey kit in the world but be honest it's still more miserable exercising when the wind is blowing cold dirty water in your eyes that it makes you not want to go out, then exercise becomes a chore vs something enjoyable that actively benefits your mental health.

You still ran op, you made the effort. I don't mind running in the rain but cold raining AND windy no thank you.
