Carry on with your day... you've rinsed it off...you'll be fine.

HowardTJMoon · 26/04/2024 13:02

Your best bet is lots of water for 5-10min. Was it a lot of bleach or just a few spots?

rubyslippers · 26/04/2024 13:02

Nothing
your eyes were protected and you’ve rinsed it off

Thelnebriati · 26/04/2024 13:03

I'd wash my face with soap and water after rinsing with plain water.

Caffeineneedednow · 26/04/2024 13:05

As others said beach dissolves in water. Its corrosive so you would see the damage if it was in a high enough concentration and there long enough to cause a burn. It would look like a burn.

If its not marked your skin and your sure it's washed away don't worry. I work in a lab and have spilt way worse on myself you be grand

TwattyMcFuckFace · 26/04/2024 13:08

Nothing, I often use bleach without gloves.

BobbyBiscuits · 26/04/2024 13:08

If you washed it off thoroughly with plain water it should be fine. If it was bad it'd be burning and hurting and looking red. I've had household bleach splash my arms and a bit on my face when cleaning before, it was fine, just washed it vigorously. But not rubbing it into the skin obviously.

Struggle1 · 26/04/2024 13:10

@Caffeineneedednow u really red. Could be as I’m rubbing it. It’s burning too. I’m splashing water as I’m typing this!

If its mould treatment its not just bleach, it contains other chemicals as well.
Stop rubbing it, wash gently with soap and water 3 or 4 times, then ring 111 for advice.

Struggle1 · 26/04/2024 13:12

I just rang 111 he took ages asking me questions and I told him I’ll. all back as might get as I e here quicker

Don't ring 111 for this, go to a pharmacy.

bluecomputerscreen · 26/04/2024 13:14

keep on with rinsing in water.

if eye is still irritated in a hour or so go to an optician.
they can refer to eye clinic if needed.

TwattyMcFuckFace · 26/04/2024 13:17

How long ago did it happen?

BobbyBiscuits · 26/04/2024 13:18

@Struggle1 gawd, you poor thing. Keep splashing, try submerging it in the sink?
I think call 111 as you may need further help, as others say it might have other chemicals not just household bleach. I hope you feel better soon!

Struggle1 · 26/04/2024 13:20

I’m running water on it. It happened just 25 mins ago

No wonder 111 are struggling when these are the type of calls they have to deal with while someone actually ill is trying to get through.

You were lucky to get through to 111 immediately.

Did they tell you to put a pack of frozen peas on it, once you've finished rinsing with water?

I'd do that, at least it'll cool it down.

Struggle1 · 26/04/2024 13:23

No I gave up on 111 that’s why I posted on here instead

Can you post a picture? I've splashed oven pride on my face without this much of a reaction.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 26/04/2024 13:27

If you've been rinsing it for half an hour and it's still very uncomfortable, it's probably worth going to a pharmacy to see if they have any remedies.

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 26/04/2024 13:31

I've bleached myself plenty of times with no reaction. You shouldn't need to be scrubbing at yourself. Is it definitely bleach?

Agree you should go to pharmacy. But take the product with you or photo of it. So they know exactly what they're dealing with.

Are you typically anxious about your health? Have you just scrubbed too hard unnecessarily and damaged your skin?

LoopyLolaGranola · 26/04/2024 13:35

Can you post a picture of the label showing the chemicals in the product and health and safety advice? Or the name of the product so somebody can Google the safety sheet for it?

So you rang for professional advice, didn't like how many questions they asked, and hung up in favour of Mumsnet advice??
