were i live there is a big prob with parking, not many drives 1940's semi's with road out front of house(not busy road)..we have ONE car, our next door neighbour wont let us take a small part of adjoining fence down so at least one of us can get the car on the drive then there is one more space out front.

last night i had to go on a course till 9pm..get hom, neighbour is parked in front of our house, next door but one house on his side has about 5-6! 'men' living in it,they have 5-6 cars/vans/mini buses between them!..their comings and goings are questionable anyway, and its a 3 bed semi, so where are they all living(they apprantly have wifes and children there too??)..anyway, besided the point..this week, they have all turned up again with most of the cars so there are now 4 cars parked along the road and one mini bus parked smack bang in front of my house, coulsnt get anywere near our house alst night and theres beena spate of mindless window car smashing so was very pissed of last night to park miles away, one cos of stupid ignorant, un co-operative neighbour, two cos of these dogy indiviuals coming and going with there mostor truck rally and 3 cos we couldnt see car or hear alarm if these little t*ats do go on a smashing spree again.......argh...i dont think i am being unreasonable, im so sick of this, i know its a public road, but cant people have a bit of common decency and either park in front of their own house, or even god forbid use their drive(the house full of men could fir two cars on theirs!) and we cant afford to hall wall knocked out and kerb dropped to give us access at moment, plus i dont think theyd take any notice anyway...aaarrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhg

They're not men, MotherFunk. They're 'men'. Which opens all sorts of interesting possibilities.

no chick like i said i know its not my road whihc is why it can be seen as being unreasonable, but despite trying to sort it out neighbours are bunch of idiots who cant see the wood for the trees!

the 'men' are very odd...all different nationalities(british/african/polish/albanian etc) normally only go out at night(cars are there all day) they come nad go with mini buses and huge refridgeration vehicles ladend down with duvets/pillows/electrical boxes????
lots of different cars every time they turn up..lots of other things, but just odd..its a rented house and otehr day a couple pulled up in a brand new audi tt and let them selves in??(we were coming in at same time)LOL prob sounds like im a curtain twitcher but am a cm and in and out on school runs all day so see a lot of what happens round here>>

Don't think it's too much to ask for some decency and common sense and 'men' with six cars to put some of them on the drive.

YANBU!

Legoleia · 01/04/2008 10:31

Similar parking nightmare over here ROSE, I feel your pain!

Perhaps you could call a friendly neighbourhood coffee morning and address the issues?!

If you oark on your drive, you'll probably get parked in anyway and will have to go rapping on doors to find the perpetrator!

morethanmum · 01/04/2008 10:33

Stop picking on the OP! If she wants to extend her rant to 'men', let her. Parking issues always v annoying. I'm much serener since we sold the kids to drop the kerb. We also let our neighbour have a bit of garden for his drive. I have no 'men' to worry about.

My parents' street has had a long standing parking war going on, there's just too many cars for the road, even with people putting them on their drives. Unfortunately my parents are one of the culprets but don't give a crap, I keep on telling them that they really should use their drive to put their horse trailer in instead of leaving it parked on the road all the time, but they're having none of it - I can understand it because they're both in their 60s and really can't be pushing it in and out of the drive all the time (it'd put them both in hospital!), but even so, they do have two cars as well, they're my parents but I think they're bastards!

As for these 'men' - sounds more like they're trafficing or something, you'll probably find out later that they're all illegal immigrants that have been promised work and a nice house to stay in and have come over completely on false pretenses, poor bastards.

cyteen · 01/04/2008 15:28

"they're my parents but I think they're bastards!"

Sorry, nothing useful to add, that just really made me laugh

Have you tried putting traffic cones outside your house? My neighbours do this.

2shoes · 01/04/2008 15:43

sorry yanu but can understand your frustration.
but aibu fo now being very curious abou these "men" and why they are "men" not men

lollipopmother · 01/04/2008 16:11

Haha not sex traffiking Motherfunk, person traffiking, getting them in to the country illegally under the false pretence that they will be given a nice house and a good job to do so they can send money back to their families etc, when actually it's nothing of the sort. This certainly does happen, it's got nothing to do with having a couple of blokes living in a house, I suggested it because she says there are what seems like a huge amount of people living in a small house.

ROSEgarden · 01/04/2008 16:19

lollipop...you hit the nail on the head although the grief you got is exactly the reason i didnt put it that way..as i said the 'men' quote was meant to sound like..hmm lots of different men...obv i didnt come across too well

So how do i go about getting our street made into one of those 'permist holders only' ones?..closer to town they have them were parking is like this, can someone request this be done??

OP posts:
ROSEgarden · 01/04/2008 16:20

2shoes.. maybe they are Cylons.

Sorry just started re-watching Battlestar Galactica!

lollipopmother · 01/04/2008 16:45

Rose - It's not really grief I'm getting, but I see your point, Motherfunk probably hasn't heard of that sort of thing before but unfortunately I've had my eyes well and truely opened in that respect, it's a very prominant thing in an area relatively close to me and it sounds just like it. Obviously it could just be a very large multi-raced family all come to have a party, but I like conspiracy theories better!
