What to use instead of microwave ?

Never owned a microwave. A lot of people I know irl can’t get their heads around it and don’t believe me when I say I’ve never needed one, I haven’t until now.
I have a baby and I’ve no idea how to warm his food up that I’ve batched cooked.
For example last night I made salmon, sweet potato and kale , extra portions in Tupperware ready for meals this week but how do I reheat?
Do I give it cold? Warm in pan? Can I reheat salmon?

Stupid question I'm sure but how do you reheat your own food or do you never have leftovers? I suppose you could warm it up in a pan or in the oven but it might be a bit dry...

I’ve never reheated or batch cooked food? So unfortunately not.

Buy a microwave

I would either reheat directly in a pan, or in a bowl in a bigger bowl of boiling water (bain marie)

In the oven, or put it in a pan and reheat it on the stove top.

not in the Tupperware, obviously.

I'd just get a microwave.

If they’re little portions you could put them in a Pyrex bowl over a a pot of boiling water and stir. It would take a while though. Why not just get a microwave?

Why don't you just buy a microwave? They're so cheap.

You reheat it like you do yours (assuming you haven’t been eating yours cold) - stove top or oven.

If you’re worried about it being too hot - heat through then let it stand until the right temperature for baby.

I'd simply buy a microwave or the next few months are going to be a complete faff for you.

I’m 31 not sure why that’s relevant?

And no we have never had leftovers, husband eats like a horse there’s never anything left. Or if there is not enough to warrant keeping.

In a pan or over a bowl of water on the stove. Or just buy a microwave... It's handy to lots of kids things

Is it a teeny weaning size portion? I think a very small pan with a lid on the hob or like a bain marie for fruits/veg.

In a oven safe dish in the oven or on a saucepan over the stove.

However, as it seems you have only recently had your first child and are perhaps new to cooking for small children, I think getting a microwave is the way to go. It's fine to wait 30 minutes for something to heat in the oven (albeit quite expensive re: energy use) when you are a grown up, but your life will be made infinitely easier if you can reheat food/drinks for a small child quickly going forward.

@Soher

I don't have a microwave either, I use a small pan on the hob for reheating 'deliberate extra portions' or left overs. Sometimes the air fryer.

however, unless you have a particular reason why you don't want to use one, I'd buy a small (if it's a space issue?) one for baby portions. It'll come in handy through the baby/toddler years.

@Soher I think it might be time to invest in a microwave - you can get them really cheaply and they really are the easiest/most economical way to warm up small portions for your baby.
As for not having used one, there's nothing wrong with that, but now might be the time to change that.
If you cannot get one in the short term, then heating over a bowl of water, in oven (or airfryer) with foil over it or even adding a small amount of warm water and stirring through might work.

That's nice. Doesn't help with the OP's question though.
