To identify as ‘not-male, not-like-my-attackers’ is well-described in the historic literature relating to Gender Dysphoria/ Gender Identity Disorder, and seems to me to be an understandable, if not logical, response to trauma.
The bit where it goes batshit is when doctors to agree that your sex is your problem and the cure is surgical castration and a penectomy, followed by swift discharge from Gender Specialist services.
