Is it me? A parking/ boundary one

Ok,I live at the end house of a cul de sac.
I have a big drive.
I obviously have to drive over my neighbours drive to access my property.
For context my drive/ front garden can happily house 5 cars which it does as I have a car, my DH has a van and my boys both have a car.
Which we park on our drive,
Saturday I weeded my front garden.
Reversed my car to overhang the neighbours property by 2 foot
Her car is on her drive 15 foot away so in no way does it impact her access.
She called the police...
They actually came round!
Wtaf?
Yeah they were suitably embarrassed as I sent them away as they obviously knew she is crackers 😂
Hope the photo works 🫰

Why are you obviously driving across her driveway? Make it make sense

I have to to access my house?

If you needed more space so you could have weeded your garden you should have moved your car to the road and parked somewhere else.

PuppyMonkey · 08/04/2024 21:38

OK, I don’t think OP is going to do a proper diagram, somebody else will have to (especially the meadow).

No meadow, just lots and lots of weeds 🌾

Well you are mostly all very rude and judgmental.
The photo clearly shows my car 2 foot over the " neighbours"
drive
I live to the left
She lives to the right
Im fortunate to have the bigger drive as I'm the end house
Just pissed off i had the audacity to park 2 foot over her drive which in no way stopped her getting her car in and out as her drive is 20 foot away and her car was parked up nicely.
More peeved she called the police and they actually came out for a non offence
Just a bat shit neighbour
Fortunately they agreed with me

As you've said you parked 2ft over HER drive (that's over her boundary)
You didn't have the courtesy to ask if you could park on her property.
She had the right to phone the police.
She's not crackers either.
Get a grip, respect your neighbours property and boundary.
Stay away and use your big drive instead of hers.

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 08/04/2024 21:43

You aren’t driving over your neighbours driveway to get to yours, you’re driving past it. Obviously. Given your responses I’m guessing you’ve just pissed your neighbour off once too often?

Gazelda · 08/04/2024 21:45

I'm finding it hard to picture the scenario.

Do you mean you live at the end of a dead end road Op? Rather than a cul de sac?

If so, from your pic, your neighbour is being ridiculous.

Is there history between you?

Itloggedmeoutagain · 08/04/2024 21:46

I still can't work out where you were weeding
All i see is tarmac

sandyhappypeople · 08/04/2024 21:47

I'm lost.. that bit that you're parked on, is that an actual driveway or is that a shared private road that all the houses on there are responsible for?

My previous house was on a narrow section of private road, but they each had driveways off that private road.. it was considered rude to block that private road, but if you are the last house I can't see what difference it makes, unless your neighbour hates you?

I currently have a shared drive that neither me nor my neighbour uses as he parks on the road and we have a driveway at the front for our two cars.. but he comes out and bollocks anyone who accidentally encroaches over the edge of the shared drive.. even just a few inches, it really bothers him, but I don't understand why because he never uses it?? Some people have nothing better to do.

OneFrenchEgg · 08/04/2024 21:52

Here is my starter for ten - the access road goes to op's house, past all the other houses and stops at op's driveway.
Op parked with a couple of wheels over this road, in front of neighbour's house.
That's all I've got.

ButWhatAboutTheBees · 08/04/2024 21:52

Does a cul-de-sac have an "end house"?

The more OP posts, the less sense it makes

You think the road outside is part of their drive?

OneFrenchEgg · 08/04/2024 21:52

Oh second op should read 'neighbour' Blush

I think you’ll find the scale of everything needs to be BIGGER. The driveways- bigger, the cars-bigger, the meadow-bigger, the fence-bigger…. Make it all BIG

OneFrenchEgg · 08/04/2024 21:57

@Herdinggoats sorry! I did use capitals 😂

spidermonkeys · 08/04/2024 21:58

I really really need to understand the road layout. I can't picture why you need to drive over her drive to get access to yours ? Hers looks fenced in. It also looks like your car is over hanging a metal fence that she wouldn't be able to get in/out of anyway.

Please diagram the road!!

SoupDragon · 08/04/2024 21:59

I can't believe anyone genuinely thinks calling the police is a sane response to a known neighbour parking a couple of feet over a driveway whilst gardening.

spidermonkeys · 08/04/2024 22:00

Also. The back of your car seems to be against your 'lmeadow' so doesn't the road stop there ?

I'm absolutely baffled.

Flowerpotcat · 08/04/2024 22:01

Stop being an asshole and park on your own drive.

Chitterlina · 08/04/2024 22:02

Intrigued when and why you took the photo. Before or after the police came out?

You’re not the only one.

AbundanceofKatherines · 08/04/2024 22:03

Here is my interpretation. My road is too wide but I have no more paper scraps to hand.

waitingforthedrain · 08/04/2024 22:03

What was it you were weeding? Was it weed?

I can't believe anyone genuinely thinks calling the police is a sane response to a known neighbour parking a couple of feet over a driveway whilst gardening.

I can’t believe anyone thinks they came out for it. There must be more context here. For instance, they might come if there was a disturbance, or an altercation where someone refused to move a vehicle. But for parking? No.
