Wonder what Julia Davis has done?

Ep 5 of The Regime (bonkers show and not entirely keen, I have to admit) has a brief appearance by Julia Davis (of Nighty Night, and other things). But I did have to check the cast list to be sure.

As a recent "victim" of ill-judged Botox [my own stupid fault....], I suppose I am on high alert to these things.

I was wondering the same.
I do absolutely love Julia Davis, she is my favourite comedian. She is so talented, beautiful and hilarious.
I think maybe some filler has been involved.
I personally also think that stuff should be banned. Botox is fine as long as its administered correctly. It wears off eventually. But filler adds volume to a face and alters peoples appearances. It also doesn't completely disappear with time it just migrates.

I agree with all you say. And my recent Botox (the second time in my life, 15 years apart...) has put me off tampering forever!

I don't think she looked "gorgeous" in that scene though, I'm sorry to say. Although she does have a lovely voice/diction (KW's - character - is over the top Received Pronunciation that just adds to how bonkers it all is).
Whatever she has done has affected the proportions of her face in some way that I find disconcerting - not that she will care what I think.
I have spent the last three weeks trying to make my Botox dissipate; I never learn.

Yes, and it's seems worse when she is speaking (despite the lovely voice) - the lack of mobility is frightening. (I hope she hasn't had an accident or anything though....).

I had wondered about smoothing the under eye area when I had my Botox. So glad I didn't. It looks really weird, and my under eyes aren't too bad. And what I did have done was "bad" enough! I thought I might end up with Endora from Bewitched, which I would not have minded. Instead, I was Tammy from 1000lb Sisters! (who I love by the way...)

I don't like to speculate about others medical issues but maybe she could have had Bell's Palsy and didn't want to go public about it?

Given the actress and the nature of the show, is it not makeup?

Hmm, I'm inclined to think not. Doesn't Bell's Palsy affect only one side of the face? [I knew someone with it and it certainly caused massive asymmetry.]
This is more - possibly - a case of Lesley Ash school of facial tweakments.

I saw a clip of her on a podcast a few months ago and noticed that she looked very different. Too many fillers.

She had such an attractive and unique face that it seems a shame. But I suppose watching yourself on screen must make you over-analyse every perceived flaw.

I'm impressed you got that far, I watched half the first episode and couldn't be arsed going on with it.

Is that really the same woman? Julia Davis had such striking features, and I mean that in a good way. I wouldn’t recognise her from that picture.

I have never heard of her or seen her in anything, but whoever she is she looks a bit odd on that photograph. I haven't googled her - or her age - but I am guessing she is about 56. So I wonder if the procedures on her face have made her look any younger. (That is why people have these procedures - to look younger. It rarely does the job!)

Just googled her, and I can see who she is now. I know her from Gavin and Stacey! So yeah, she IS unrecognisable now. Why do celebrities (usually female ones) do this to themselves?! She looks so weird!

She was good in the early days, the agency for thick people in Jam for instance.

As I said, it's bonkers - and a bit close to the knuckle in some respects.
I read a review that suggested it parallels our own Gvmnt, in denial and fiddling while Rome burns... and Hugh Grant didn't last long!

She looks really swollen. It's such a shame. She always had one of those really slim, angular faces I think are gorgeous. But then as an actor they get the fear about looking gaunt and go mad for the dodgy fillers. I really like her. I love Julian Barratt as well, are they still together? He doesn't seem the type to encourage an unnatural amount of 'work', but who knows? I hope she lets it go down and doesn't go back to that clinic!

She works in an industry that worships youth above all else, the pressure to remain youthful looking and relevant must be huge. You can't blame women for buying into it or risking work drying up.

What a strange comment, why are you assuming he's encouraged or discouraged anything she wants to do to her own face?

She looks like Felicity Kendall in that screenshot. What a shame she felt the need to do this to herself
