This has thrown me. I’ve just seen a TikTok about it. Obviously not a Peter fan but always just assumed he was a decent good guy. Clearly not. I can never ironic Mysterious Girl again

Oh wow. I fired a quick post off before bed and looks like the earlier people who declared ‘no-one cares’ were wrong 😑

Obviously can’t answer all questions, but a few

  • It’s ‘obvious’ I’m not a PA fan or I would have know. Not complicated!
  • I’ve never watched GB News but know who owns it, have seen what is discussed on there, who the hosts are and the recent rulings from OFCOM about breaking impartiality guidelines.
  • I’ve never suggested GB News shouldn’t exist. I’d like it not to exist because no-one buys in to its rubbish but Hey Ho. What I WOULD like is it to follow the broadcasting rules
  • I don’t get my news from TikTok. I log in about once a month and last night happened to see a stupid clip from PA and his (I assume) co-host doing a stupid dance. Then I realised it was from GB News.
  • I interviewed Holly Valance way back in the day and she was a blank vacant space. Guess that’s space has been filled with fascist misogynistic nonsense now.

@Laughattheloons Looks like you don't like some one who appears on GB news, but it looks like a majority of viewers dont agree with you. 😂

Vocal abusive intolerant minority, goading the silent majority as per usually.

So you do think it's fine to label a particular group with insulting slurs. Interesting. Thanks for admitting it.

Yeah. That’s what I said.

Otherstories2002 · 07/04/2024 14:26

Yeah. That’s what I said.

Thanks for clarifying your stance, you can abuse any one who is in the majority. Safe to say we can now ignore you from this point on, with views like that 👏.

Really confused. Read all of ops post and am non the wiser. Unless it was that PA was on a news programme

Glad I never watch tv as it sounds really stressful to get this het up over a singer appearing on a tv programme

it doesn’t even appear to be over anything that has been said or done.

So you have never watched this channel but still would like it not to exist as it promotes 'rubbish'. Can you spot the flaw in your own argument here?

Only because of their biological sex. Which is fine, as I'm a man and therefore benefit from our patriarchal society and the institutional and social structures that support it, so it doesn't do me any harm.

Which is broadly the same argument for why gammon isn't racist, sexist or problematic in any way other than deflecting from the real issue.

Ah, now it makes sense. You're a male, so you're trying to mansplain what you think women should care about most. Please, just PO. We will care about what we want to care about. You really do wear your Male Privilege quite clearly. Abortion is not an issue in the UK. But other womens rights, such as our rights to speak and our rights to sacred safe single sex spaces, is. Us women don't need to you to mansplain what you think we should prioritise.

Sillypede · 07/04/2024 14:45

2dogsandabudgie · 07/04/2024 13:45

But we all know that Governments both Labour and Conservatives don't do half of what they propose in their manifestos so it's not as black and white as you're trying to make out.

It doesn't get more black and white than we can end homelessness but we choose not to.

As for parties not sticking to specific (as opposed to vague or general manifesto pledges) it looks like 88% were indeed stuck to between 1987 and 2005. The problem is we've gone from Labour's 18 pledges in 1945 (almost all carried out in 5 years, including some biggies like the creation of the welfare state) to 550 Tory pledges in 2010.

He hosts a program on there. Very off brand for him so it’s surprising since he is (well was) a bit of a gay icon from his pop days

Are they anti homosexuality? I never knew.

MarjorieOsborne · 07/04/2024 14:46

Otherstories2002 · 07/04/2024 14:26

Yeah. That’s what I said.

You seem blissfully unaware of your sheer hypocrisy. Unless you're just being goady, of course. I'm inclined to think it's the latter.

Lifeomars · 07/04/2024 14:47

I'm surprised GB News has got the money to pay anyone new, last I heard they were in deep financial trouble. I have never watched it, it's not my thing given they have regular appearances by ReesMogg, Farage and 30p Lee.

Laughattheloons · 07/04/2024 14:47

@Iluvteandbiscuits thankfully its viewers average 57,000 which is 0.08% of the UK.

Sky News and BBC News also get tiny figures as the majority of people don’t watch news channels they watch their news on main channels or read on the internet.

So beating those channels for 1 day in 2022 is hardly a massive thing.

Do you have to watch something to know you disagree with it? I’ve never watched porn but I know I don’t like it and wish it didn’t exist. Same for GB News…

Andrew Doyle, Benjamin Butterworth, Albi Amankona, Darren Grimes are all gay men who appear on GB News regularly. I imagine that there are more - not sure about lesbians tbh.

Yet here you are making a post about the vary same channel, it obviously bothers you quite a lot, so actually it is a massive thing too you isn't it.

"Sky News and BBC News also get tiny figures as the majority of people don’t watch news channels they watch their news on main channels" are you saying that sky news and BBC news are not main channels, oh okay. 😂

Carry on....

Not sure that pornography is a reasonable comparison when discussing a mainstream tv programme.

I find it odd that you wish GBNews didn't exist. I think that the BBC is shameful in its promotion of trans ideology and biased reporting of crimes committed by men claiming to be women - I wish it would not do that but I do not wish it did not exist.

Being a “gammon” is about the most privileged human you can be. It is in no way a vulnerable or minority group.

There's a bill going through parliament to decrminalise abortion. You might not think it's of any interest to women that a huge lobbying group has direct access and influence in government that wants to kill the bill, but GBnews should, if it really is interested in women's rights & democracy.

It's not an either or.

Well in order to disagree with a tv program or channel, I would have to watch it to get a balanced opinion of it or it would be just virtue signalling wouldn't it.

Comparing GB News to porn heard it all now.

Because it denotes a reactionary political position and 'little englander' attitude.

It displays an example of the intolerance of a certain type left wingers who can't argue their case without resorting to cheap insults.

I don't know, it could work as an analogy, can men watch porn but think critically enough not to be affected by it in the way some pp's claim to be able to watch a channel that regularly hosts white supremacists & misogynistics and remain unaffected?

You just sound really infantile using such terms. Why don't you try to use other words to debate and engage rather than slinging insults and hoping to shut people down?

You’re aware I didn’t actually call anyone a gammon right?
