To want a breakfast buffet at home

I want to wake up every morning and come down to a table laid with random things, like slices of cheese, pineapple juice, apple compote, muesli, iced water, yoghurt, coffee, hot chocolate, and just kind of start my morning by picking at this and that. But how do I get around the fact that I don't want to get it all out/prepared?

I'm going to have to hire staff, aren't I?

Hello my darling breakfast bunnies!
Well, breakfast was indeed served! However I fucked up and had too much to drink last night so didn't get to pre-cook my tortilla :-D
It definitely needs elevating with one though, amd I also need to get some of those big juice decanters with the cork lids for a more glamorous finish.
Please note the thimble sized glasses

I loved the breakfasts at our tiny hotel in Istanbul. Individual bowls of honey, jams, olives, cheese, sweet butter, oven baked eggs or shakshouka, lots of freshly baked bread, pastries and Turkish coffee.

Edited

Turkish breakfast is the absolute best. If you have a city or town with a Turkish cafe nearby you might be able to get it back in the UK. Otherwise most of it can be prepared the night before for hotel style breakfast buffet purposes.

Thimble sized glasses duely noted, OP. Perhaps a glass jar for the Alpen as well as the juice.

Premier inn breakfasts are great and 2 kids eat free with every adult so it's only a tenner!

Iceland have 3 bags of frozen croissants/pain au chocolate/pain au raisin for £5 .....got some ready in my freezer 😍

If you live anywhere near a premier inn, you can book their breakfast without staying. Not an everyday option obviously but an occasional treat. We’ve done it when camping.

We do this about once a month. It's a beefeater attached to our local premier inn. 4 of us eat for £21.98. Can't go wrong.

When the kids were pre-schoolers and used to get up at the crack of dawn, once a week or so in the school summer holidays, we'd go to the play park in the local town for about 7am when it was pretty empty, spend an hour or so there and then walk to the Premier Inn where they would both eat for free if I had breakfast. I couldn't cope with going to the park at any other time as it would be full of "hooligans" (by which I mean children of about 5 & 6 who were massive compared to my 2 & 3yo).
The DC are now teens and still love a Premier Inn breakfast. The chances these days of them getting out of bed for a trip there before they stop serving is low!

Once a year, I end up basically living in a cheap ish hotel for one week. I adore it. It’s mainly because I can go get breakfast in the lobby every morning.

i love it so much I find myself daydreaming about how I could live in the small space with efficient shelving. I would never actually do it, but I really love the breakfast buffet.

I've never tried it, but you can do cooked breakfast in slow cooker https://www.slowcookerclub.com/slow-cooker-full-english-breakfast/

And you could buy pre-packed fruit salad, and frozen / part baked almond croissants from Tesco

I reckon you could put together quite a fancy breakfast buffet without too much effort

OMG pastries, how could I forget!!! I could get some frozen pains au chocolat and bake them the night before

Frozen pains au chocolat and croissants cook very quickly in an air fryer, doing them the night before would mean they were horrible at breakfast.
