Please settle an argument with DH!
Kids are in their 20s.
One of us thinks this is a usual thing to do.
One thinks it is weird.
I won’t tell you which of us thinks it’s weird until later….

YABU - buying eggs for adult children is WEIRD
YANBU - buying eggs for adult children is not only usual, but LOVELY

I'm disappointed I didn't get one and I'm 44. Not even any half price ones up for grabs!

BurbageBrook · 03/04/2024 16:52

It's not weird at all, it's a very nice thing to do!

BuffaloCauliflower · 03/04/2024 16:53

I’m 36 and my mum still buys me one, and DH, and our kids.

Tatas · 03/04/2024 16:54

Definitely get them eggs!

Isitisit · 03/04/2024 16:54

We all get them from my parents (age range 28-39)

Caspianberg · 03/04/2024 16:55

I think it’s nice.
My Ds is still little. But as an adult if he’s here for Easter he will still get a Lindt Rabbit, as dh and I get one every year also

justasking111 · 03/04/2024 16:56

Not since they got married and had children. My single son still gets one.

NeedToChangeName · 03/04/2024 16:57

I think it's a bit weird, but harmless

nameohnameohname · 03/04/2024 16:58

To clarify- none are married but three have partners. Partners get eggs also.

The tide has changed here.
Mum has stopped buying easter eggs for anyone.
So I have to buy my Dad one. He adores presents, and chocolate. It's a very easy, and cheap win!

Peridot1 · 03/04/2024 16:59

I bought DS one. He’s 22. He didn’t eat it and has left it here and gone back to uni. It won’t still be here when he returns………

CandyCaneLane0 · 03/04/2024 17:00

I'm 33 and got one from my mum, I got her one too

DurhamDurham · 03/04/2024 17:01

We bought our girls eggs and they're 27 and 31, bought their partners one each too. They get advent calendars too. Left it too late to stop now Grin

ClaudiaCattipuss · 03/04/2024 17:01

God, my adult children still have big piles of presents at Christmas!

I say take the little pockets of happiness and indulgence where you can. Why not?

Tel12 · 03/04/2024 17:03

Well mine all got Eggs and some of their children are in their 20s.

LillyLeaf · 03/04/2024 17:03

I'm 41 and my parents bought one each for me, my partner and 3 year old. We all scoffed them, never too old for Easter eggs.

haveyoutriedturningitoffandonagain · 03/04/2024 17:04

Who cares if it's not usual it's lovely

Createausername1970 · 03/04/2024 17:04

My adult DS lives at home and I get all of us a large egg each.

And they buy for us!

RufustheFactualReindeer · 03/04/2024 17:05

Got 20 year old ds2, 22 year old dd and 25 year old ds1 and his partner easter eggs, and bunnies and all sorts of chocolate bits

and df got all of us including 55 year old dh and 54 year old me easter eggs 😀

familyissues12345 · 03/04/2024 17:06

We bought for adult DS (and his GF) and DH and I bought each other the same amount of eggs as we bought for the children - 2 eggs plus something else (creme eggs etc).

Vicliz24 · 03/04/2024 17:07

My 39 and 36 year olds got one each as did their partners.

PandaG · 03/04/2024 17:09

Bought for our adult kids and partner, and for DH, and various packets of minieggs for cake decorating and evening munching with wine and board games. Everyone happy. If I'd seen my Dad over Easter he would have bought one for each of us, or possibly a large slab of chocolate each instead, as they tend to be better value for money!

Nudgethatjudge · 03/04/2024 17:12

Keep buying them.
It's just a token of thinking about them/love isn't it?
I checked and there's no age limit (except little ones with little eggs).

ThePoshUns · 03/04/2024 17:14

I buy my DH and adult sons one still
