Does it bother you? I have a semi famous DH, he gets paid to gig and go on podcasts etc if we go out locally he does get asked for selfies so we tend to go away for weekends as a family.

I do find it slightly annoying but I guess it pays the bills 💃

Absolutely! I’m actually laughing remembering that thread and visualising the DH stood like a T rex.

But what if he did the roar? AIBU to tell dh off? He’s a famous DH in tescos.

I know Calvin Harris but I call his Adam cause that’s his name

I was on an episode of 80s TV show 'Why don't you?'

I remember being so jealous of the kids that appeared on there. I loved that show. How did you get on?

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 29/03/2024 23:10

I live on the same road as Jane Mcdonald.. we went to the same school.. that's about as famous as l will be..

My DH is semi famous. He was the lead character in a Jackie magazine photo love story in 1979. Despite the fame and adulation he's pretty humble and grounded considering.

This is actually incredible

LuluBlakey1 · 29/03/2024 23:11

Yes, today in Newcastle there were people whispering as we went past. 'It's him and that must be his wife and kids.'

They followed us. I heard one say 'Go on, speak to him.' And another one say 'We might get wrong. I never expected to see him out shopping though.'

In the end DH stopped and spoke to them. They were Y8s from the school where he's Head and they were thrilled to see him in the real world. 😂

@DeZerbisWinnerWinnerPastaDinner

is your son anything to do with BHAFC by any chance?

Mirabai · 29/03/2024 23:11

Overlooking the genesis of the thread, one of my school friend’s DH’s is now world famous and they’re very wealthy. A little bit of success and money is nice but this puts a big pressure on the relationship and she wishes it hadn’t happened.

DontCallMeKidDontCallMeBaby · 29/03/2024 23:12

My boyfriend from sixth form was arrested on an episode of Night Cops……

Fetchthevet · 29/03/2024 23:13

My DH sat behind Zoe Ball on an episode of Going Live about 30 years ago. Does that count?

ForAmberGoose · 29/03/2024 23:13

My mum was a background actor in soldier soldier. Its been a hard life cowering below her immense celebrity shadow.

CarrotCake01 · 29/03/2024 23:13

How I love a humble brag 🍿👌🏻

Are we going to name any names?!

At university, I went out with someone who had been in a My Guy photo story. Sadly, he slipped through my fingers and is now married to someone else.

OooScotland · 29/03/2024 23:15

Why have you brought him up again? Nobody cares that your DH is ‘semi famous’.

My DH is more famous than yours. Or is he? 🤔

You win the thread!

I’m so jealous of the people on here who were on Whackaday, Why Don’t You and Crimewatch.

I’m now pondering if the T Rex DH actually did roar?

I was part of a group of young people that volunteered at a local country park, supervised by the ranger. The Why Don't You team had gone into a school that one of the other children attended and asked if they did anything interesting.
As I was a committed member (I loved it, up the hills every weekend), I was one of the lucky few that got chosen to be filmed. I think I was about 10. It was so exciting as we got a day off school! So it was an outside broadcast, about a 5 minute feature.

SabrinaThwaite · 29/03/2024 23:19

My friend won an Oscar but sadly isn’t sponsored or available for spinning the decks at the Y6 disco.

Does that still count?

JanewaysBun · 29/03/2024 21:08

My FIL used to be a local councillor so was often stopped by people to complain about bins/parking/grass verges. 😂

I stopped being a local councillor in 2012 but still get waylaid by random people in the street wanting to chat abput topics as diverse as drains and bins to their housing problems, benefits and childcare arrangements... I politely refer them on to current ward Councillor

JWhipple · 29/03/2024 23:20

MeadowL · 29/03/2024 21:11

My DH also gets sponsored

What? How is that relevant? To anything? Surely you aren't just desperately trying to boast about your DJ husband?

tennesseewhiskey1 · 29/03/2024 23:20

Omg your friend won an Oscar @SabrinaThwaite 😱😱😱 that is amazing.

How selfish not being available to do a school disco, some people have no morals.

On a serious note, well done your friend.

My sixth form ex was on Rogue Traders.

The sex was great though and I was all distracted for a few days after seeing him again even though he was evidently a wrong un

I think I bumped into him once!! I was probably the one stalking him in Morrisons. Sorry!

Honestly couldn’t go anywhere without someone wanting to drive discuss their bunions 😂
