Ice cream and crisps are massively overrated

Is it just me or do crisps and ice cream get way too much food kudos?
I mean, they're OK, but there are loads of things I much prefer. DH and both DDs think I'm crazy and it's become a major talking point at home (in amongst all the deep discussions on politics and climate change of course).
Thoughts?

Yes on ice cream.... sorbet is so much better. No re crisps

I have barely eaten either in 6 months since I cleaned up my diet. I’ve developed a taste for darker carbs and beige ones have lost their appeal. No cravings anymore either.

How have you done this please?

I'm the other way round! Ice cream is a bit meh to me. But crisps - honestly nothing else (food-wise) satisfies me in the same way! 😋

I used to. I got rid of the freezer and my electricity bill went down noticeably.

Ice cream if it’s chocolate or honey comb, but I avoid or I’d be the size of a small house. Crisps I don’t really enjoy. I mean they are ok, but I’d not choose them. I may pick if they are out, but past that no interest from me.

There is only one ice cream that I absolutely love. That is coffee ice cream. However, it is difficult to obtain. Carte d’Ore do or did a really lovely one but haven’t been able to get it for some time. Sainsburys now do a Taste theDifference coffee ice cream which I have recently discovered. Just as well the carton isn’t too big as it is too moreish to stop eating.

@Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain , cut out the carbs that have only fat with them.
e.g. don't start the day with toast or cereal, don't eat cakes and biscuits, etc

I like coffee ice cream too.

Waitrose sometimes have coffee ice cream lollies.

Cheese and onion crisps scooped into vanilla ice cream is where it is at.

I've just bought a big bag of paprika crisps from an Eastern European shop. They're very tasty.

Not ice cream and nothing to do with this thread but does anyone remember Rubicon lychee ice lollies? They were like a Calippo style. I'd give up crisps for a year for one of those.

Ice-cream depends. I've become really conscious of the unpleasantness of upf ice-cream and the way it doesn't melt. But I love some homemade and non upf ice-creams.

I don't rank either in my top 20 foods though. Possibly even top 100.

I think we’ve hit peak ice cream. I don’t think it can get much better. Even bad ice cream is good.

What is overrated is pizza. It’s glorified cheese on toast, and ridiculously expensive for what it is.

I am not remotely interested in ice cream. But crisps, I love. So much so that we never have them in the house as I would snarf them.
