I don’t think I am so I’ll start and if you want to you can share your own mumsnet ‘failings/crimes’ in the comments 🤷‍♀️😂

I am not married
I am a SAHM
I don’t shower every day
My showers are at least 15 minutes long
I can’t drive
I don’t own a house or have a mortgage
I do things with my child even though they won’t remember it
I will have a big age gap between my children as we’re not planning to have another one before the first starts school
I am still breastfeeding
We co-sleep
I am not no-contact with either of my child’s grandparents
I enjoyed Baby Sensory
I don’t like wine
I don’t spend all my free time cleaning/tidying
I don’t mind making my partner lunch
I haven’t been to a wedding as an adult
I enjoy the toddler stage
I can’t make a chicken last multiple meals
I start buying Christmas presents on Boxing Day
I keep cards
I don’t limit screen time
We always go food shopping together
Me and dp always go to bed at the same time
I take my child with me when I meet up with friends
I don’t mind if the house gets messy/there’s toys everywhere as my little one plays
I feed my child food that I know they will eat
I parent as child-led as possible (if it’s not safe or harmful to anyone then I step in but other than that I encourage independence)
We don’t have a dishwasher or tumble dryer

There’s probably more 😂

I'm a slattern but you'd probably not realise as our house is small, very tidy and uncluttered.
My washing is regularly darked on.
I like wearing my dressing gown all day, often do and don't care who sees me in it.
I didn't go to university and therefore don't have a degree but earn the mumsnet 6 figures in a very niche occupation.
You'd never know this as I have an estuary accent and people think I'm a thick Cockney.
I like my [now adult] children and love spending time with them.
I often feel murderous towards DH and eye up the patio on a regular basis.
I'm sure he does the same.
I don't have a mobile phone, tablet or kindle and I don't intend to ever have any of them.
I have a toilet brush but don't use it - I prefer bleach.
I don't batch cook, meal plan or have a weekly food budget.
I leave big tips when eating out as I appreciate good service.
I wear black skinny jeans and ankle boots and don't care about fashion.
I hate midi dresses, underwired bras and trainers and don't own any.
I drive a beat up old Skoda.
I love AI holidays and take four of those a year.

I puzzled about that for a few minutes and thought I couldn't make sense of it because I've been drinking so moved on 🤣

I’m so glad I cleared it up for you 🤣🤣🤣, pour yourself another glass you earned it🤣🤣🤣

If I hadn’t cleared it up someone would have been along to rip shreds off me for my textual misdeeds 🤣

crackofdoom · 24/03/2024 23:03

I will happily leave my children with random teenage babysitters.

I'm a feminist who thoroughly enjoys casual sex.

I live in social housing and do not aspire, ever, to own my own home.

I don't have a pension pot and I don't care.

Walkingwasgoodforme · 24/03/2024 23:06

I'm sure there are plenty of things I do wrong but...all of the people bragging on here about unlimited screen time for TODDLERS? Are you for real?

MrBallensWife · 24/03/2024 23:14

I don't live rurally
I don't earn a six figure salary
My daughter (10) goes to bed when she feels like it at weekends
I don't always cook from 'scratch'
I'm a single mom
No screen time limits
My kids could be held by anyone when they were newborn
I don't shop in waitrose
I'm fat
Mcdonalds isn't the food of the devil.
My dog sleeps in bed with me
I hate England, its a shithole and wished I lived in America.

Abovemypaygrade · 24/03/2024 23:17

I love my Partner and we are equals , he does have hobbies but they are not boring .
I don’t expect 50/50 split in chores about the house as I have more time available at home than him
I vote right of centre , always have and always will
I don’t have kids and don’t want them
I work
I have never received benefits
we own our house outright
I bath every day but only a few inches of water
I change the bed weekly and sometimes more often
I have never smoked , done drugs , got a tattoo
I give to local charities
Love animals but have no pets
I love cooking , food shopping , meal prep and meal planning
I like cleaning and tidying the house / car
I have a toilet brush
I answer the door and phone as required
I don’t decorate for Christmas until at least the 20th dec then it’s only minimal
I have never been to a spa ( and would pay good ££ not to go )

Sagittarius · 24/03/2024 23:35

The main one- I just can't bring myself to use the D prefix before husband , son etc. It makes me cringe.

I eat way more than 1000 calories a day.

Screen time is not limited.

My child eats a beige diet of chicken Nuggets, fish fingers and pizza and far too much chocolate

I love weddings!

We like Haven and All inclusive holidays

We also like adult holidays alone and don't feel any guilt

I don't automatically think everyone is neurodiverse.

Our bed sheets aren't washed everyday, who has time for that?

I'm sure there are many more 😆

Great thread by the way

Catsmere · 24/03/2024 23:39

Forgot to add I have a toilet brush and (horror of horrors) it's as old as I am! 😆

GentleGentileschi · 24/03/2024 23:46

@Catsmere that toilet brush is 21 right? 😉

Cookie77777 · 25/03/2024 00:00

It's the wide variety of people here that makes it enjoyable. I like hearing viewpoints I wouldn't in real in life, regardless of whether I agree with them. I doubt anyone is 100% MN cliche, but this is a fun thread.

Mixed bag here I guess:

  • no kids. I like some kids I meet, but by far not all and I find associated topics really boring
  • I like things clean. The non-showering/minimal housework threads are grim
  • I think there are more shitty men than there are women and the degree of shittiness is massively higher
  • I don't like holidaying in southern Europe and I don't think southern Europe is chic or cool
  • Pro-Palestine
  • I don't like mainstream fashion (White Stuff, Joules, Next...)
  • I don't like traditional middle-class English decor:chintz, period pieces, farm style kitchens, colored rugs and loads of books everywhere
  • I always answer the door and phone
  • I think private education creates inequality issues
  • Way too many people claim to be disabled or disadvantaged or SEN or triggered. It does genuine cases a huge disfavor. Resilience has fallen out of fashion.
  • you can't escape the sex you had at birth. Expecting others to indulge your delusions is selfish
  • Celebrities and the RF are tedious topics of interest
  • Barely anyone should be on benefits. If you work, your employer should pay you enough to live on and the taxpayer should not subsidize the shareholder. Min wage should be higher and benefits should be re-arranged so that working is always more financially viable than not
  • In same vein, tax structures should favour workers. No disincentives for increasing to FT etc. Childcare should be made affordable via state measures
  • There are some truly awful people around but most are good
  • Financial envy is rife and ugly. I don't begrudge anyone their high salary if they worked for it through education or skill or working hard. UK education is free
  • Animal rights are overlooked in almost every aspect of life
  • The financial implications of divorce make no sense. Partners, previously married or not, should be obliged to support their children, not each other
  • Hot tubs are lovely if they're your own and you know they're clean
  • Northern England is more diverse and interesting than the South
  • it's fun to dress up to go out. Caring about your appearance isn't a sign of intellectual inferiority
  • I like massive salads
  • For many women, being long-term single would make for a happier lifestyle choice. There is too much pressure to be coupled up
  • Toilet brushes are grim, but there isn't an acceptable alternative
  • Zoflora stinks
  • Spa days are lovely
AngelQuartz · 25/03/2024 00:02

Not married

Earn 25K

Have never stepped foot in a Waitrose

Love takeaways and McDonald’s

Don’t own anything from Boden ,Toast or Fatface and don’t plan to

I wear what is deemed “unsuitable” dresses for weddings. (Satin, silky midi thigh split. Gets the uptight MN’ers foaming at the mouth).

I actually know how to use Snapchat

I have no issues answering my door. Even when I’m home alone

I’ve never logged anything with 101

Bbq1 · 25/03/2024 00:10

I love my dh
My teenager is great and I loved/love every stage of parenting
I earn what is termed a 'low wage' on mn but in reality but we have plenty of disposable income and we are comfortable
We have takeaway once or even twice a week
I don't cook everything from scratch
I don't batch cook
I am happy to cook etc for my family Dh does his share
I answer both the door and phone
I like my job but would give it up in a heartbeat to be at home
I have never and would never co sleep
I speak up to a stranger, friends or a relative if a problem arises and deal with any issues there and then
I don't hate men just because they are men

I'm sure there are plenty more

Minimili · 25/03/2024 00:13

I am childfree,
I have been with my partner for 10 years and not married,
I have tattoos and piercings,
I prefer vodka to wine,
I don’t automatically think people are neurodivergent when they are just being arseholes,
I don’t own my home and have no desire to,
I don’t work and I’m on benefits as I’m disabled,
I cook and do all the housework and my partner does the “manly jobs” round the house - bins, DIY, car maintenance etc…
I don’t use the D prefix
My partner and I have been on separate holidays but still love each other,
I don’t have a Uniclo handbag,
My partner and I are in our late 30’s and still go out clubbing and to casinos,
I can’t stand coffee or tea and drink fizzy drinks,
On my partners day off we sometimes sleep till 3/4pm as he works late usually, we often have our evening meal at midnight.

As for the toilet brush conundrum…
My partner was brought up in a Muslim country where they wash after having a poo, he uses a special jug now as we don’t have a bidet.
The jug is a great alternative for a toilet brush and much more hygienic so for the people wondering how they would manage without one then I might have just solved your query 😂.

FlissyPaps · 25/03/2024 00:18

Not afraid to admit I dabble in class A’s if I’m at an event/rave.

SmallIslander · 25/03/2024 00:19

I own a bog brush.
I call it a bog brush.

Downunderduchess · 25/03/2024 00:19

Not a mum and I’m single in my fifties
Born, bred & live in Sydney
Will not put up with shit from anyone
I like Meghan & Harry
I have at least one or two showers a day
Got rid of the dishwasher & dryer ages ago
Never drink alcohol or smoke (did drink occasionally in my younger years but haven’t for the last 15 or so)
Don’t eat meat & feel healthy without it
Have never had a conversation about what “class” someone belongs to, find it baffling that it’s spoken about so often here
I wear a lot of floral shapeless dresses & think they are pretty
When I finish a book I usually give it to someone else to read or donate it, I don’t keep them cluttering up my shelves (I average three books a month)

VenetiaHallisWellPosh · 25/03/2024 00:26

No dishwasher or tumble dryer (my space is tiny).
No driving licence.
No 6 figure salary.
I brought my child up in a flat.
No air fryer. Yet.
I change my sheets when I think about it. Maybe 2-3 weeks.
I shower every other day.
My daughter had unlimited screen time from the age of 11.

IloveAslan · 25/03/2024 01:02

I don't have children
I don't own a house
I don't drive
I don't always shower every day, change my towels/clothes after each use/wear
I have long showers
I eat UPFs and beige food
I'm not vegan/vegetarian
I answer the door
I don't live in the UK
I'm not houseproud
I don't really like cooking and I hate baking
I don't blame my parents for everything wrong in my life
I don't think everything is "grim" or "disgusting"
If a man I don't know speaks to me I don't have a fit

Catsmere · 25/03/2024 02:45

GentleGentileschi · 24/03/2024 23:46

@Catsmere that toilet brush is 21 right? 😉

😂😂😂

Sparkleandshine231 · 25/03/2024 02:48

I hate the chicken joke that always rolls out in these threads. Every.Single.Time.

Not amusing in the slightest, probably never even happened.

Spencer0220 · 25/03/2024 03:02

I don't have kids.
Don't like giving head a wobble.
Don't do joint finances.
DH earns enough, no management ambitions.
Neither of us drives.
I wouldn't have a clue how to make a chicken feed 5,000 for 6 meals.

Footyfandango · 25/03/2024 03:10

I am not a misandrist.
As this seems to be the absolute golden rule on here, I'll shut the door on my way out

Fruitystones · 25/03/2024 03:24

I'm not mumsnetty enough

-I don't hate state school
-I don't hate private school
-I take hour long baths and do deep exfoliation
-I don't take two minute showers and wash myself with my hand
-I'm a SAHM
-I love and like DH
-DH does 50% of housework outside of office hours
-DD10 has a phone and an iPad

-I have the ability to comprehend that people who are significantly better off than I am, still struggle with things, including finances
-I recognise that "get a better (insert product, job or lifestyle here)" isn't always feasible for lots of people.
-I don't judge those who are worse off than me
-I don't take enjoyment in kicking people who are worse off than me while they're already down

MariaVT65 · 25/03/2024 03:28

I EAT WITH MY KNIFE IN MY LEFT HAND.

I think joint bank accounts are stupid.

Struggling to potty train my 3 year old.

I hardly drink any alcohol.

Couldn’t give less of a fuck about UPF.

DC1 had A LOT of jars and pouches.

I am yet to take my 3 year old to a single ‘class’.

During a job interview, the manager mentioned they really liked Boden. I nodded along, but had never heard of it. 7 years later it’s still out of my price range.

MariaVT65 · 25/03/2024 03:35

https://www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/sienna-embroidered-shirt-passion-fruit-lemons/sty-t1555-mlt

£90 for this horrible shirt. I just don’t get it.
