To be offended by these stickers on the back of a van?

So I was on a day trip with a friend yesterday and this van was up ahead of us in the traffic.
I’m no prude, but I think these are really offensive (you may need to zoom in)
Is it even legal to drive around like this?

To be offended by these stickers on the back of a van?

Grim.

And grim that anyone thinks it is OK for kids to sit in a traffic jam behind this stuff.

The owner is showing themselves up as a thick misogynist scumbag.

DrJoanAllenby · 24/03/2024 16:18

The very nature of them is meant to be outlandish and humorous to others with the same sense of humour.

It's not my sense of humour but certainly not something I would be offended by.

They are preferable to those ghastly stick figure stickers though as they are truly hideous - www.aliexpress.com/i/1005003844687701.html

In what way is misogyny ‘humorous’?

And references to rape — lots of lolz.🙄

Westfacing · 24/03/2024 16:24

Was that driver really in front of you, or did you find the photo on the internet?

It looks fake to me

I've seen the van quite a lot in real life 😬

Now why would I do that?!
this vehicle was in front of us. I was the passenger & she was the driver FFS 🙄

Where was this?

DrJoanAllenby · 24/03/2024 16:30

@KarstRegion it's humorous to others that would also sport those stickers on their vehicles.

You don't find it funny and I don't find it funny but there are other people that do!

DownturnUpturn · 24/03/2024 16:31

I would not be offended. But it says an awful lot about the driver, and his attitude to women.

Jaboody · 24/03/2024 16:32

HA, haven't seen a Fat Willy's sticker (or t-shirt) since the 90s.

Westfacing · 24/03/2024 16:27

Where was this?

Near to Bicester Village shopping outlet.

Seems you have come across a Grade A tosser OP I wouldn't be offended myself but i would think i'd give that person a wide berth with things like that plastered. Not the sign of a good person is it.

JohnSt1 · 24/03/2024 16:46

Living one the the planet where Andrew Tate has millions of supporters, this doesn't surprise me. The stickers are a symptom of a much bigger problem.

RosyCheekedBird · 24/03/2024 16:48

Grim, utterly misogynistic and I hope his vehicle falls into a ditch and women can laugh as they drive past.

YES.

LuluBlakey1 · 24/03/2024 16:49

I think they are misogynistic, offensive and insulting. I can't understand why women are not upset by these things.

GemmaC50 · 24/03/2024 16:52

RosaMoline · 24/03/2024 11:55

It hasn’t upset me, but it’s not nice for kids/young adults to see.
They’re all vile…no fat chicks/nudes/bitches/horrible image of a fat dick dripping semen top right…surely this is offensive to display in public?

I hadn't noticed the fat ''dripping dick" on first viewing. Now you have highlighted this I find this completely unacceptable and of poor taste. Really low mentality.. I bet in reality, this pathetic individual couldn't even pull himself! lol :)

Interesting how so many women on here claim to not watch porn but also know what fake taxi is

thomasinacat · 24/03/2024 16:55

According to the public order act 1986:

'a person is guilty of an offence if he - ...displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting.
within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby.'

I’ve never watched porn but assumed fake taxi means the driver is “joking” that he’s a rapist luring women in by pretending he’s a taxi driver, sort of like John Worboys. Is that wrong?

Lovelyview · 24/03/2024 16:56

I spent a happy 10 minutes thinking up what the feminist ninjas I really wished existed would do. I'm torn between spray painting w**r on the car or printing out a load of stickers saying things like 'I'm a misogynistic dick' and 'Incel onboard' and sticking them to the car with really difficult to remove glue.

I think a lot of women watch porn?

I'm sure not as widespread as men/boys but still...

Tallerandtall · 24/03/2024 16:57

@RosaMoline

why no number plate?
I mean they are driving about so it's not private?

Isittimeformynapyet · 24/03/2024 17:02

"And yes I can guarantee that it’s a man."

Not necessary @Trulyme. I don't think any of us were wondering.
