To be offended by these stickers on the back of a van?

RosaMoline · 24/03/2024 11:40

So I was on a day trip with a friend yesterday and this van was up ahead of us in the traffic.
I’m no prude, but I think these are really offensive (you may need to zoom in)
Is it even legal to drive around like this?

To be offended by these stickers on the back of a van?

I should have added that his stickers are just embarrassing - for him.

Nobody is going to get in that van for sexual pleasure.

JMSA · 24/03/2024 13:48

He might as well have 'daft prick' tattooed on his forehead.

PeggyPoggleshaw · 24/03/2024 13:57

Must admit I find it quite amusing.

PeggyPoggleshaw · 24/03/2024 13:58

RosaMoline · 24/03/2024 12:36

So those of you on this thread that think I’m BU to be offended, you’d be ok if I was driving about with ‘FUCK OFF CUNT’ in massive letters on my rear window, yes?

Yes, absolutely.

LauderSyme · 24/03/2024 14:00

Ugh, that is so gross.

I guess the owner is strongly signalling his identity and his membership of his 'tribe' with this public display of oafish misogyny. I expect he enjoys upsetting women with it and wears their contempt for him as a badge of honour. Horrid.

The Fake Taxi thing - that’s a rape fantasy? Really disgusting.

The driver may already be known to the police. He might have form for sexual offences.

Fake Taxi is a porn company.

I've no idea why you were offended. The nob head has outed himself as one. Feel sorry for his friends and maybe wide, but don't bother yourself with it.

You have to choose to be offended. You can also choose not to be offended and move on. Being offended is a personal thing that you really shouldn't waste time on.

What choice have we when they pull out in front of us at a junction with a 7 year old and 9 year old in the car who have good eyesight and reading ability?

Er, pull in and stop? 🤷🏻‍♀️

BCBird · 24/03/2024 14:08

Ridiculous. I agree thst it is warning about what prick he is

MissingMoominMamma · 24/03/2024 14:08

It’s very kind of him to give us all warning to avoid him like the plague.

mrsdineen2 · 24/03/2024 14:08

PeggyPoggleshaw · 24/03/2024 14:06

Er, pull in and stop? 🤷🏻‍♀️

And wipe their memories after I stop?

PeggyPoggleshaw · 24/03/2024 14:13

mrsdineen2 · 24/03/2024 14:08

And wipe their memories after I stop?

Well, considering there are so many stickers I highly doubt they'd be able to read them all within a couple of seconds.

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/03/2024 14:20

@PeggyPoggleshaw you are being willfully ignorant about this. Of course parents don't want to explain porn and similar to smaller children. I once had to get through the red light district of Amsterdam with DD when she was small. Even running and with my hand over her eyes, she said, "what's a condom" and she was younger than PP's DC and a poor reader.

Rapey shit driving around isn't acceptable and we need to stop normalising it. It smacks of recruitment either of victims or perpetrators. Rape culture, and the normalisation of porn, are bad. I can't believe I'm explaining this on MN.

They didn't see every single one of them so that's OK then?

You sound like a reckless individual. I'll say no more.

I’m 57 and that’s the first time I’ve seen obscene stickers on a rear window! It can’t be that commonplace, surely?!

I'm 55 & I've seen enough to last a lifetime.

the first one I remember from my young teenage years was

'if it's rocking, don't come knocking'

then it had stick figures.... in case you hadn't understood!

I agree that it's of questionable taste, but I'm certainly not going to get my knickers in a twist about it.

Ohhhthedrama · 24/03/2024 14:40

I must admit I'd have a little chuckle in a whatttt??? Kinda way if I was behind him. I'd also assume it's promo for Fake Taxi.and look, it's worked. mumsnet is shocked next stop daily mail.

Lazytiger · 24/03/2024 14:41

Who are the people saying ‘just ignore it’. The firms behind these logos aren’t allowed to advertise on roadside signs so it’s not OK they are stuck in the back of a car.

Common decency doesn’t exist anymore if people think this is just something to ignore. If it was graffiti it would be removed/painted over if reported.
Seriously hope this thread gets picked up by Daily Mail to name and shame him.

OP send the photo (with number plate visible) to your MP and councillor(s). Do both in same email so they can’t send you round in circles.
Tell them you are disgusted by this and ask who is responsible for dealing with it.

It’s nice when you get a clear warning that you’re dealing with a dickhead.

Haha exactly this!

Misogyny is offensive.

Or at least it should be.

It's not a character failing to be offended by misogyny.

this would literally not offend or bother me in the slightest. I’d probably just laugh it off. My friends number plate used to read C11NT which I thought was brilliant

hobbitonthehill · 24/03/2024 14:50

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Alwaysgoingforit · 24/03/2024 14:52

Can't say I've ever noticed this amount of shit on one car / van. Probably thinks it makes him look tough and hard to all the toilet humour 'grown up little boys' out there.
Meanwhile most people think he's a complete twat who is probably an incel.

LauderSyme · 24/03/2024 14:55

PeggyPoggleshaw · 24/03/2024 14:06

Er, pull in and stop? 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is fucking ridiculous.

Some prick has a vehicle covered in crap that is so inappropriate for children's eyes that you think other people should take action to prevent kids from seeing it, rather than dickhead driver should take action to prevent plastering it all over public spaces?
