Threads being posted again? Going crazy?

Am I going nuts or are threads popping up that are exactly the same as ones posted months or even years ago, but just with a current date???

I feel like there's been several now where I am almost positive I have read it before.

I saw someone ask this on one of the threads and OP denied it...

Maybe I am imagining things as not sure what the motivation would be for doing it.

YABU - You are imagining things
YANBU - I've noticed this too

Because a thread that one remembers from a few weeks, months, or years ago - not a particularly interesting thread, not one that has ever gained traction - suddenly appears with a new date on it, weeks, months, or years later.

Still don't see why that means MN are reposting. What would the purpose of repeating boring threads from years ago be?

Are you talking about literally word for word, exact same punctuation or the same question or situation expressed in different words?

If the former how are you remembering that's it's exactly the same?

The same kind mundane stuff happens to everyone, it's not a surprise that more than one person imight have the same thought and express it in a similar way

Traffic is down. Content means clicks. Clicks means advertising revenue.

If you've not experienced a repeated post yourself, perhaps you will doubt the report of others who have. I have encountered at least a dozen this year.

Yes I've noticed this twice in the last couple of days! Reading a thread and assuming it's a zombie but then checking the date and being a bit confused.... and thinking no more of it and scrolling on to the next 20 threads I look at in that sitting! Hence why I don't bother recalling enough info about it to find it.
