I can't tell if this is genius or I've lost my mind.

I sell on eBay. One of the things I sell is (new, unopened) period underwear- Modibodi etc. (I know there is an eBay thing with men who are into women's pants, shoes etc fetishistically buying on eBay and sellers selling these items with lurid descriptions etc - but that's clearly not me.)

Anyway - for the past week or so I've been getting increasingly, er, excited messages from one chap asking for more info about the item. I've ignored. It's along the lines of "I was wondering how high the pad rises at the front? I was looking at these to catch my unfortunate dribbles ( i am small lol] and the panties looked very nice."

Anyway - matey has ordered them now. Which means I have his full name and address. It's on an RAF base.

AIBU to accidentally send a copy of his messages to whoever opens the post at RAF bases?

Er no. Obviously YABU. it's ick obviously but he's not doing anything illegal.

ToastyToes101 · 13/03/2024 07:41

Yes of course you're being unreasonable. No idea if he's genuine or not, but either way trying to get him in trouble/embarrass him because of it is just unnecessary.

SoupDragon · 13/03/2024 07:42

Why would you do that?

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/03/2024 07:43

Sure - but sending - quick count - nine messages over a week to a random eBay seller for sexual kicks is OK?

Ilovejammies90 · 13/03/2024 07:43

Why the hell would you do that!! It may be creepy but it's not illegal and you've not told him to stop or blocked him...

Report the messages and block then!!! What makes you think anyone will open his post anyway, it will be opened by the recipient??

Sundaygettingreadyfortheweek · 13/03/2024 07:46

Can’t you just block him and report him to ebay. Is that not an option?

VestibuleVirgin · 13/03/2024 07:46

@TheWayTheLightFalls So, you want to contact the employers of customers you have deemed unsuitable for some reason?
What gives you the right, what is happening in your thought processes that you even think this, let alone come onto a public forum to ask if it's ok or not?

What did you do to stop the messages?

So he's got a kink, you got a sale didn't you.

mooncloud1 · 13/03/2024 07:47

Agree, if you're uncomfortable just report to eBay.
You have no idea if he's ordered them as a joke, and his mates and him are dicking around messaging you.
And why say accidentally' message who opens the parcel, it wouldn't be an accident, would it.

It's nothing to do with his employer, that's for sure.

HeadNorth · 13/03/2024 07:49

You were happy enough to take his money....

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/03/2024 07:49

@AgnesX I ignored them, because to my mind either replying or blocking him would be giving him a reaction. I treated this the same way I would treat a flasher. I wrote to eBay five days ago, no reply.

And fwiw I sell a lot on eBay etc and haven’t ever had anything like this.

That's awful! So you would open him up to bullying, teasing, having a hard time for a private fetish he has got. He could end up killing himself through embarassment.

Chocolatebuttonns · 13/03/2024 07:52

What part of this exactly do you think is genius?

Yes it's weird but it's not illegal. You were happy to take his cash.

Why would you try and ruin his life? Yes. You've lost your mind.

BunniesRUs · 13/03/2024 07:53

Very creepy and upsetting. However I would have blocked.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/03/2024 07:53

Why am I obliged to tolerate x number of sexual messages from the guy in the name of his private fetish?

OP posts:
PoppingTomorrow · 13/03/2024 07:54

Ignoring or blocking isn't a reaction.

Publicly Exposing him is, and it's would he unnecessary and unfair to do so. Plus as pp say you've no idea if it's actually him.

You're not, so you block / report after the first one, not happily continue until you make the sale Confused

You're not. You could have blocked already.

Don't be silly. You should have just blocked them. Now you're thinking of making drama, thereby giving it attention. You shouldn't have had to receive those messages, but you could have chosen to block way before you'd read nine of them.

For what?

For sending sexualised messages.

Brendabigbaps · 13/03/2024 08:00

Shows your true character!

Hankunamatata · 13/03/2024 08:01

Are the messages odd or are they asking about the product?
