Well if Kate isn't prepared to do that, it wouldn't be an option, would it? Equally, I'm not sure the wider KP outfit is being well advised or open to taking good advice. My personal opinion is that a way forward has not been agreed, so they're trying to buy time.

The more I look at the photo it seems like the centre , ie Catherine is an AI image. It’s almost more believable that the centre person was originally William and they’ve removed him and inserted her in there.

I doubt William took this photo last week like it’s been announced by KP.

If Kate edited it, what are the up to 90 staff they have for PW/entourage doing then, including the entire press office?!

Lovely idea, he takes a snap, she edits it, but surely no-one believes that's how photos get put out, or perhaps that is what they did and will never be allowed to do again!

It's a photo that has had a slightly dodgy bit of photoshopping done - probs by some twat in the palace PR team - so it not considered usable.

This time it's princess Charlotte at the receiving end but the same person or type of person will have no issue whatsoever to anonymously bully any young girl online. Not massive news: A bad photo edit is retracted.

Am I the only one that thinks it's really not that crazy to think that a photo might be edited, especially when three young children are trying to pose nicely? It's a little bit embarrassing, but it's not massive.

Edit: Turns out it was Kate that edited it. It really isn't a big deal.

The thing I find most odd about this situation is that people are just making things up from thin air with absolutely no evidence whatsoever…

I'm just stating what I think is happening given some very odd messaging from the palace. I'm not presenting this as anything other that my opinion. 🤷‍♀️

I thought this woman was in a state of either “too ill to work” or “working very hard” - doubt she has time to dick around with photoshop and composite together fake photos. This latest “update” from KP is almost Soviet levels of desperate papering-over-cracks.

Only 65% though, I'd have hoped it would be a bit more!

It seems to me that it was the absence of a quick explanation from KP which caused the retraction by the press. If they’d had someone on duty who could have said it was photoshopped quickly yesterday this probably could have been avoided.

The press team were probably all on the family estate or propping up a bar in the pitcher and piano in parson’s green!

And after all these years of judgement, criticism, speculation and hounding, Kate will be expected to serenely smile and politely talk to everyone during every public appearance for the rest of her life. To think, people say she has a life of luxury but it’s really not. How many people would honestly trade?!

She is a very keen photographer, I think that's exactly what she might spend some of this free time doing.

DH is also a keen photographer, he loves getting on Photoshop and editing and improving photos, he can spend hours on it sometimes.
