I wasn't sure why this topic suddenly got so much attention in the first place. I am probably one of those people, who never really understood why the royals needed to announce anything about their health issues but then I thought: fair enough, maybe some people are interested.
When later some speculations started about Kate's "disappearance" from the public eye, I thought it was odd because they aren't exactly our colleagues, neighbours or TV presenters, and we don't see them every day anyway. In that context, what exactly is "disappearance from the public eye"? Especially, for someone, who had just had surgery and supposed to be unwell?
Then the palace decided to release this picture, which is apparently modified according to all major news agencies. If it is modified as suggested, then, frankly, it is the palace that probably makes it more weird than it needs to be now. In general, their private lives are their private lives and they aren't anyone's business. I have no interest in their private lives but as unreasonable as it sounds I am starting to understand why this whole affair is starting to look a bit strange to those, who are interested in the news about them. Firstly, you release the news about their health, which didn't really need to be done at all. Then you offer no further updates to the public only to release this "modified" photo to show that all is well and good. That's brilliant for Kate if true and I am sure all her fans will be delighted. If as the BBC suggests, this photo may have been modified by the staff at Kensington Palace, then it is enough for William to kill all this mad speculation around this photo by sharing the original. That would be the end of all this madness and the end of all speculation around it. But that's if they care about it at all frankly!
