Posters you still think about

Proof I probably spend too much time on here but does anyone else have posters they still think about every now and again?

Mine is the Australian poster whose son was in the abusive relationship and her many threads about helping him get out of the relationship and realizing she was toxic.

Can’t find the threads at all now but I hope her and her son are still doing well!

Does anyone else have stand out posters or threads that stick in their minds?

@LordSnot the pregnant woman with the 2 kids from the rich ex who was trying to turn them against her was outed as a troll

GlennCloseButNoCigar · 10/03/2024 22:51

I still think of lovely Emin (earthmotheriamnot) a truly great women.

Bangbangcauliflower101 · 10/03/2024 22:54

Sparkling Brook, Hecate, Cogito, Daffodilly, AnyFucker to name a few of the incredibly wise, strong women who helped guide me out of some painfully ridiculous relationships in my early 20s where I had nothing but internalised misogyny as my guide. They literally collectively steered my life in a much better direction and I’ll always be grateful.

I don't know Riven personally but her husband's career has really taken off in the past decade or so, so I think they are financially in a much better position, and he occasionally mentions his wife and daughter in tweets or blogposts.

Their daughter still seems to be doing OK, considering her serious disabilities. I think Riven also has some serious health problems (was it MS? she used to post about it). AFAIK all her MN posts were deleted for privacy reasons after the Cameron episode.

A poster a few years ago. Married, no dc. Her h was clearly controlling and abusive. He had totally isolat€d her - from her family, she worked for him so no financial independence etc. he even dictated when she went to bed, what she ate etc. over many threads and name changes she came to realise. Her first escape attempt was to sign up for teacher training. She did it secretly at first but he nixed it and manage to convince her she would be terrible at it. Then a bit later she was poised to leave. Even found a flat. And then she went silent and I never came across her again. I think about her A LOT.

there’s a similar situation happening currently with a poster and I think it’s why I find myself ridiculously invested. I feel like the other one might never have got away and maybe this woman might.

ps I am pretty sure Laqueen is still her. Different name.

This one for me.

I remember him throwing all of his rubbish out of his car, asked her to go outside and pick it all up and promptly drove off, leaving her on the driveway exposed in her nightwear.

It's the thread that most hammered it home to me how much someone can get so entrenched in an abusive relationship.

I hope she escaped but I doubt it.

Mrs Koala
Scottishmummy
La Queen
Bonsoir

What happened to Bonsoir/Bobo Chic.

She was ill then came back for a while only to disappear again.

sparkleywallpaper · 10/03/2024 23:03

@BangingOn I sometimes think of legs too. Didn't her husband order a blow up 'thingy' to have sex? I believe she had 5 children? She sounded heartbroken. I hope she found peace in her life.

Iloveanicegarden · 10/03/2024 23:05

CubeMorphine and her daughter? Eating the elephant in chunks? and the poster who wrote about sending her husband on a wild goose chase..... very funny.

Simplesalmon · 10/03/2024 23:10

Does anyone remember Bonsoir or LaQueen
Their posts really entertained me during the interminable night time feeds

She really was an Earth Angel. Fostered over 80 babies! She tragically died aged just Sixty according to her Daughter.

Thanks for those who remember my Claire. The support I received here was incredible and kept me going through there 28 days of horror, until it wasn't.

It is one year tomorrow, and my DH and DS, DIL and Two DGS's will be going to the zoo, her favorite place in San Francisco.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow @2018SoFarSoGreat I hope the zoo trip is nice for you all.

I seem to remember RedToothbrush travelling around all night on the tube because she had nowhere else to go. And being articulate, funny and bloody inspiring whilst she was sorting out her life.
I think she’s still around.
Give us a shout if you are Red 😁

StrawberryJellyBelly · 10/03/2024 23:14

The one whose daughter was in ICU and she posted the wrong name at one point (Claire vs Clara). The thread was deleted and reinstated a few times before being deleted for good. Most likely someone with Munchhausen by Internet but it was one of the more believable long-running hospital sagas on MN

the poster is my cousin and Clara was a nickname for Claire. The situation was very real.

Agentdanascullyx · 10/03/2024 23:16

A poor women who was forced to eat paper, never forgot that one.,I think it’s in classics a women who called her husband lovely and had a baby, is anyfucker still on here? Not seen her post in a long time

Hotgirlwinter · 10/03/2024 23:17

The lady who found out her husband (and father to her child) was having an affair with a work colleague when their messages came through on the iPad synced to
his phone and she’d seen it all playing out in real time whilst he was on a works night out.
He’d been messaging the poster then messaging the OW at the same time, living a complete double life.

If I remember rightly OP was either pregnant or had a very young child.

She kicked that cheating prick out and pretty sure divorced him.

She was incredibly strong

Also gojetter and her son

Timeandtune · 10/03/2024 23:18

Ages ago a poster with Skye in her name. Had a wee girl. Husband left her to go and stay “platonically” with a friend.
She was devastated but I think eventually had to accept that he wasn’t coming back.

I was thinking of the lady called Pamela the other day who posted throughout her illness and up to her death. And of her husband and son.

Ah yes Pamela, I think her username was @WilsonMilson. I sometimes think of her too, what a lovely lady she was

BeAzureExpert · 10/03/2024 23:21

The infamous Hawkins whose only error was using chatgpt to answer some of the ops threads and the classic "all the best op"

Purpledragonz · 10/03/2024 23:21

DrunkenElephant · 10/03/2024 22:27

Sadly both babies died, there was an update and a new thread from the poster around Christmas time.

That's heartbreaking 💔
Thank you for updating me

Nevercloserfortherestofourlives · 10/03/2024 23:24

I miss Anyfucker, always the voice of reason.
More lightheartedly the young joker who ‘Cliffed’ the whole of MN on a regular basis.
She posted about her scummy neighbours stealing her little boys toy tractor from her garden and her and I think her dad going and getting it back.
cant think what she was called

Cantabulous · 10/03/2024 23:25

AnyFucker and CogitoErgoSometimes changed my life ❤️

BubblePerm · 10/03/2024 23:26

Getorfmyland
Pagwatch
Bupcakesandcunting
Dittany
Solidgoldbrass

Nice and/or informative or hilarious posters.

Somewheresunnywithwine · 10/03/2024 23:27

Doubt anyone will remember but there was a poster with 'garlic' in her name, may have been 'garlicsalt' in around 2017 (I think) The post was something along the lines of 'I have a bad feeling' and she went on to say she thought her long term partner was going to break up with her. No one agreed but long story short she was right, it was very mundane really but I often think about what she is doing now.

StrawberryJellyBelly · 10/03/2024 23:30

The one whose daughter died? She wasn't real??

She’s very real.
