Back by popular demand, lol.

Please continue to share your day's delicious delights! Whether you are a snack muncher, or a total gourmand lets continue to relish in eachother's meals!

I've only had 2 packs of chicken flavour crisps and a belvita bar so far today. I'm sure you can do better than that!

Happy Eating folks! : )

Prob stepping out of the spirit of the thread…can I ask…

Some of you seem to eat so little, or skip lunch, or dinner..how do you do it?! I’m now thinking my sensible eating days aren’t even close to where I need to be to be slim again! 😞

BobbyBiscuits · 04/03/2024 01:43

I promised I wouldn't mention weight/ size etc but I've put on 4kgs in a week.

I'm kind of horrified. Hoping it's mainly water and I will try and be sensible tomorrow.

Today went to a Pakistani/Punjabi restaurant for late lunch, so 10 of us shared...
Starters-
Chicken tikka
Sheek kebab
Lamb chops
Paneer
Garlic naan

Mains-
Dry meat (lamb) curry
Keema (minced lamb curry with potatoes)
lamb biryani
Tarka daal
Tinder curry (pumpkin)
Roti

4 glasses white wine

Then had a cold slice of mushroom pizza about half an hour ago.

Yeah, diet starts tomorrow. Haha.

I'm obese and need to lose about four stones so I'm doing a lot of fasting and low carbing as that's what works for me. I just can't get away with any other pattern of eating. When I was slim I was only eating one meal a day and perhaps an apple for lunch. It sounds bad, but I'm naturally fat and need to work at it in order to stay slim. I don't eat until around 2pm and then nothing after 6pm. Once you're used to it the hunger goes away as long as you avoid most carbs - bread, biscuits, pasta, cake, cereals etc. Salad fills you up and keeps your stomach happy. Protein curbs your appetite. Healthy fats do as well.

People need way fewer calories than they think they do, especially if they're not that active, which I'm not at the moment.

DontLeanOnTheKeyboard · 04/03/2024 12:00

Thank you, @brytersky , you make perfect sense and have given me food for thought (Mike drop!)

I now possibly have the answer to why it just keeps piling on, I’ve been a 3 meal a day-er as long as I can remember (not when I was young and very thin!). I’ve also noticed the very low incidence of alcohol.

Im just getting over Covid so hoping I can capitalise on the tummy shrinkage and use this thread as inspiration

therealcookiemonster · 04/03/2024 13:29

just a crumpet so far today but I couldn't sleep last night so had two helpings of chicken biryani... one at 3am and one at 6am....

oh well... off to give advice on the diet thread about losing weight

BobbyBiscuits · 04/03/2024 15:00

@DontLeanOnTheKeyboard I know what you mean. I promised not to bring up my own worries about weight/ size and did just that.

It's just not worth comparing yourself to others when there's so much else going on. Some people will be very active, some obese and on a weight loss plan. Some have all sorts going on, we don't know or need to here.

If you wish to lose weight then tracking calories, to see how much you are eating, then you can meaningfully reduce. I'd say cutting down carbs is a good way, but it's for another thread. Keep posting your meals and everyone is different. : )
