Not a AIBU but posting shamelessly for traffic 🤣

After many many lessons and many failed tests I finally passed today! I'm over the moon and I just wanted to say to anyone who is on the same journey that I was and thinking to give up please don't! It's worth it in the end. It has been so difficult with a covid backlog to even book a test? Theory running out people making little sly digs but I did it today!!! And with only two minors!!!! Wooooo

Yay! Well done you! Took me three tests due to nerves. Been driving 15 years now without any incident.
Congratulations

Congratulations OP. It isn't easy and requires work and determination. (It took me 3 attempts!)

ToHellBackAndBeyond · 22/02/2024 20:42

Ah brilliant! Well done.

Glenthebattleostrich · 22/02/2024 20:42

well done. I'm saving for lessons, I failed 5 tests about 20 years ago and totally lost all confidence. Definitely time to try again

Skiphopbump · 22/02/2024 20:42

Well done! I finally passed in my mid thirties, was so worth all the stress!

Timetodownsize · 22/02/2024 20:43

Well done you. It took me 7 attempts but I'm so glad I persevered - being able to drive gives you so much freedom

Merryoldgoat · 22/02/2024 20:43

Absolutely brilliant - well done @strawberryblue

It took me ages too and now I feel so free being able to.

effoffwind · 22/02/2024 20:43

strawberryblue · 22/02/2024 20:47

It was nerves for me also!

I had some hypnotherapy don't know if it worked or I thought it worked

I felt sick this morning I was sooo close to just not going to the test but I am so pleased I did!!!

Congratulations 🎉👏.

Catsmere · 22/02/2024 20:52

Well done OP! I didn’t learn to drive till my 50s and it took over a year to be ready for my test, and I barely squeaked through. It makes such a difference having that independence.

Notonthestairs · 22/02/2024 20:52

Congratulations for passing & for being so determined, it's very hard to keep going after set backs.

NigellaAwesome · 22/02/2024 20:52

Well done!

We are trying to get DD through it. She has done 5 in the last 18 months and the last 3 times I thought she was really ready (I'm an advanced motorist, so whilst not a driving instructor I like to think I know good driving when I see it). IMO the examiners can be exceptionally picky and it is disheartening for her. The pass rate around here is about 28%.

She's taking a break at the moment.

Well done 👏
