Not a AIBU but posting shamelessly for traffic 🤣

After many many lessons and many failed tests I finally passed today! I'm over the moon and I just wanted to say to anyone who is on the same journey that I was and thinking to give up please don't! It's worth it in the end. It has been so difficult with a covid backlog to even book a test? Theory running out people making little sly digs but I did it today!!! And with only two minors!!!! Wooooo

I had decided if I didn't pass I would give up - I think that made me less stressed and I passed. Couldn't believe it ! @Glenthebattleostrich don't give up. I am so glad I kept going - especially now 30 years on as my DH may have to stop driving because of eyesight problems

strawberryblue · 22/02/2024 20:53

@Notonthestairs thank you that means alot and it has been hard to keep going I probably have half given up at points but my instructor was brilliant and I just knew I had to keep trying! I'm glad I didn't give up

Delighted for you, op 🍾

strawberryblue · 22/02/2024 20:53

@NigellaAwesome yes they are super picky! Where I passed today pass rate is 34% and last time I took a test 5 of us in waiting room all 5 failed!!!

Congratulations!

Brenna24 · 22/02/2024 20:58

Congratulations 🎉👏 it took me 3 goes because of nerves. On my 3rd go I rolled back slightly right at the start on my hill start, decided that was it and I had failed and then promptly drove a really nice test. It turns out that rolling back is only a minor if you catch it and correct it properly. I have been driving for 29 years without incident now.

Mystro202 · 22/02/2024 21:00

Especially so at the moment when the backlog is still so massive.

Grammarmum · 22/02/2024 22:37

Well done you 😊

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 22/02/2024 22:38

Well done 👍🏼

honeyfox · 22/02/2024 22:39

Congratulations! It is such a big deal!

I started learning at 28, passed at 40. Bit of a gap in between but my god it's difficult and stressful 😞

honeylulu · 22/02/2024 22:44

Well done, you must feel woohoo amazing!

It's so much harder these days (I learned 30 years ago). My son took his year last year and I was astounded at how you have to master these days plus theory too. Plus crazy backlogs for lessons and tests! And you've done it, congratulations!

BobbyBiscuits · 22/02/2024 22:47

How awesome. Now, the thing is, I could really do with a lift, not far...just from Bodmin to Buenos Aires and back. Lol.
Seriously well done!

LillyLeaf · 22/02/2024 23:03

I'm learning at the moment, only about 6 lessons done so far. I do worry about the nerves on test day.

Congratulations
