My husband thinks breastfeeding women should be more classy

He thinks if you are feeding, do not do it in the centre of a food court , try to go to the edges. Choose your seat around the fringe. Preferably near a potted plant. Choose to be discreet. Do not make a spectacle of yourself ( in Parliament),
In a restaurant, don't sit in the middle.
Women should show more discretion and decorum.

How embarrassing to be married to such an arse. Or is this actually your opinion? In which case you are an arse.

puzzledout · 21/02/2024 20:50

@DoYouBelieveInMagic I'm not as vile as someone who vilifies a breastfeeding mother!

That's beyond vile!

I'd never say this to anyone, but this is a thread asking for people's opinions and I gave mine. You are vile and a bully, the things you have said above to me are horrendous.

puzzledout · 21/02/2024 20:52

@DoYouBelieveInMagic not at all, but I will stand up for every single breast feeding mother against women like you.

I'm so glad I'm not you!!

thesleepyhoglet · 21/02/2024 20:52

Ffs... women don't go out of their way to make a scene about it. They are out and about and baby starts getting unsettled so to PREVENT attention due to noisy baby, I would try to feed her/him asap.

puzzledout · 21/02/2024 20:55

As I've said @DoYouBelieveInMagic why do you think you're viciously attacked both in life or on here?

'So glad I'm not you', what a piece of work you are just because we don't agree. Incase you haven't noticed there's nobody to stand up for, this is a thread for a discussion and you're just being as nasty as you can now because I don't agree with you. I pity anyone who crosses you in real life. Stop double quoting me too you sound unhinged.

puzzledout · 21/02/2024 21:02

Again @thesleepyhoglet why don't think people viciously attack you in real life....

Because you deserve it?

You told us that you were viciously attacked for your views....

Apologies that's for @DoYouBelieveInMagic !

Who admitted she was viciously attacked for her views!

You have tagged the wrong person. I know why they react this way, because they don't agree. It still won't change my mind. What is your aim here to shut the thread down because people disagree with you?

puzzledout · 21/02/2024 21:05

I know I tagged the wrong person @DoYouBelieveInMagic that's why I corrected it before your post sweetie!

puzzledout · 21/02/2024 21:06

@DoYouBelieveInMagic no I'm
Just pointing out you're viciously attacked by your own admission and then confused by being attacked!

puzzledout · 21/02/2024 21:07

@DoYouBelieveInMagic well then stop tagging me?

I exclusively breastfed both children. I do agree with your husband. We don't live in a jungle

Tell that to all the highly reputable and respected painters of pictures of the Madonna breastfeeding Jesus. Such lack of decorum!

Seadreamers · 21/02/2024 21:22

@BloodyAdultDC when DS was a newborn 9 years ago I was struggling to get my confidence up to bf in public, as I’d heard quite a bit about negative reactions etc. Then I went into Costa coffee one day with DS and this woman was bf right in the entrance as you walk in, naked from the waist up. She was chatting to her companions but kept doing a theatrical head toss and looking at each table one by one repeatedly. It was a bit like I’m daring you to say something.

A week or so later I saw her again in another cafe, again in the centre of it doing exactly the same - bf, naked upper half, and head tossing and looking at each table. I never knew if she just whipped her top off or she removed a bra too. She had very large breasts - the other one completely on show as she made no effort to cover up - so I would imagine not wearing one would have been very uncomfortable (mine had got quite big due to bf). After seeing her, I decided I’d be ok hiding behind my bf shawl! Never saw her again after those two occasions.

Decorum is only ever used in relation to women ☹️

Ger1atricMillennial · 21/02/2024 21:25

Oh well he is entitled to his opinion I suppose. When someone has an opinion about breastfeeding it is usually telling what they think breasts are for i.e. not for feeding children.

Herewegoagain84 · 21/02/2024 21:26

vom vomity vom vom. Oh, and it seems you’ve really scored with him - nice catch babes!

thesleepyhoglet · 21/02/2024 21:26

@Leonarda89
You said that it isn't a special part of bonding and that breastfeeding isn't different to bottlefeeding. I disagree with this. I fed my son both ways and each way was different. When I was tired it was easier for me to be less engaged when bottle feeding (my experience) and when older he just wanted to grab and hold the bottle himself. I didn't connect as much. I preferred breastfeeding but he didn't take to it as much as my daughter.

IDontOftenComment · 21/02/2024 20:06

Totally agree with you husband OP, can’t stand seeing a woman flashing her breast, breast feeding or not.

Flashing is a specific act. Breastfeeding is not flashing. If you think it is you have some unfortunate issue with the human body and its functions

Treehugger22 · 21/02/2024 21:27

I think always have a scarf to cover but hiding behind a plant, or moving from your seat is stupid.

ShamalaPamela · 21/02/2024 21:28

porridgeisbae · 21/02/2024 16:55

I do lol but if it's right in front of you you have to spend the whole time you're having your coffee with your head turned at a weird angle.

Just cover up, people.

You too with no control over where your eyes go? Does it run in your family?

BashfulClam · 21/02/2024 21:31

Why is your husband looking at other women’s tits?

Flamme · 21/02/2024 21:32

tentonine · 21/02/2024 15:58

I agree with your husband. People don't seem to do discreet anymore.

Why do people have to be discreet when feeding babies? There are few beings less discreet than babies.

Correct it’s a medium for social control and chastising women
