Not aibu just intrigued. This thread was done on here ages ago and it was so fun. I have two:

Pasta is gross, I'll eat it but its not delicious as people make it out to be its cold slimy dough.

I'm sure she's nice but Beyonce is overrated.

My GC love Blackpool, so do I, it's my destination of choice as a december weekend get-away. We go the same weekend every year. I like weatherspoons eggs benedict with a £1.50 refillable coffee and good WiFi, you can't go wrong.

Gotta love the eggs benedict

MoonWoman69 · 20/02/2024 19:26

Just because you own a mobile phone, doesn't mean your face needs to be glued to it 24/7 to the exclusion of actual conversations.

Nobody should be donating money to starving children in other countries. Charity starts at home and we have enough poverty issues to deal with here, UK that is.

I do not believe in religion, but I don't have a problem with others doing so, just don't ram your beliefs down my throat.

Social media - Happy birthday grandma/grandad/great aunt Beryls cousin twice removed. They'd have been 125 today... Just why?!

Avocado is delicious? No, it's not! It's mushy soap vegetable/fruit/whatever! Don't come at me with your "I love smashed avocado on wholemeal sourdough toast for breakfast, with a drizzle of oil and grinding of black pepper"! Just have fucking cornflakes, a pot of tea and a roll up!

Electric vehicles are dangerous as well as being very over-rated. (I can say this having spent the weekend having been ferried around in two of them, on and off) My friends mobile rang and she turned toward the kerb to pull over (I'd have ignored it, but see my first point!) The bloody thing braked that hard, if my seatbelt hadn't have locked, I'd have been through the windscreen! Yesterday, she strayed slightly towards the white centre line, it yanked itself back to the middle of the lane! I may as well have grabbed the steering wheel myself and yanked it hard to the left! And if they're so environmentally friendly, where exactly is the electricity originating from? Fossil fuels possibly?! Was glad to get back in my mucky old diesel!

Being a larger (but a lot smaller than I was) lady myself, I believe that people should dress appropriately for their size. I do not hold with the fact that people should feel free to wear what they want! I do not want to see a size 28 girl/woman, in a crop or sleeveless top, thank you. There is no need to be larger and look frumpy either, fashionable longer tops and good fitting jeans or trousers are actually available!

That's my two pennorth for what it's worth! 😁

.. because you offer them bits of animals and excretions instead of actual food

You mean food?

flowergirl24 · 20/02/2024 19:29

World Book Day dressing up is shit. As an English teacher, I just cringe at the horrid polyester Amazon outfits. It does nothing to promote reading. There are much better ways.

Tbf so do humans… we probably eat more birds than cats per year

We don't leave fucking shredded bits of them for other people as gifts.

I just hate cats. Don't need a reason apart from the fact they they're horrid. And their doting owners are worse.

cerisepanther73 · 20/02/2024 19:41

Getting hammered pissed three sheets to the wind binge drinking where you allmost throwing up in street 😫 sick state,

Is really over rated and not as much 😕 fun as it is made out to be in our culture...

A good night out doesn't have to include lots of Alchol,

It's the friends company you with and the general ambience of the place venues you hang out at makes a good night out ,

Not Alchol ...

Maighnuad · 20/02/2024 19:45

Bare feet gross gross gross

cerisepanther73 · 20/02/2024 19:47

I don't know why people think 🤔 drinking lots of alchol makes you a more engaging and interesting and entertaining person to know,
than someone who doesn't drink alchol teetotal or only drinks minimum amount of alchol drinks

Why do people think your Boring or bit weird for being like this?

Theedgeoftheabyss · 20/02/2024 19:24

If pet keeping was not a thing, animals wouldn't be mistreated by some. It's because people can be cruel (intentionally or not) that we have to rescue them. Farming is not included in this scenario. Don't get me started on livestock.

Pets have been kept for around 30,000 years though, so it's not exactly a recent thing!

StripeyDeckchair · 20/02/2024 19:56

I hate weddings and it amazes me that people spend so much money on ONE DAY.

I also don't get wedding dresses - hugely expensive, worn once, often not that flattering

Diamondshmiamond · 20/02/2024 19:56

People don't tens to eat dogs (or cats, rats etc) as they are carnivores, and therefore eating the meat is more risk of worms/ parasites etc. Why pork is culturally often not eaten in hot countries as more risk of disease.

Smoking and vaping look stupid and common.
Visible tatoos and any piercings except ears also.
People who eat a lot of meat are selfish

ChishiyaBat · 20/02/2024 19:48

Pets have been kept for around 30,000 years though, so it's not exactly a recent thing!

Doesn't make it ok, does it? The mass transport of fish grown in huge tanks for selling in shops, often to people totally ignorant of proper fish keeping? Hamsters kept in tiny enclosures? Rabbits in tiny huts? Give over. I mean, feeding cats means using dead animals that again are mass produced and slaughtered. It's not comparable with pets kept thousands of years ago.

cerisepanther73 · 20/02/2024 20:02

I don't like it when people put their sweaty sock feet up on trains seats or the cinema seats like they are back home at their own place 🤔

Yes. I want to ban world book day dressing up. This is not a lighthearted opinion- I am deadly serious.

Dogs.
I just. HATE. dogs.

Same. I don't care if they just want to be friendly, I don't want them jumping at me or pawing for attention.

cerisepanther73 · 20/02/2024 20:07

@MoonWoman69
Yes I agree charity begins at home first in uk

only in exceptional circumstances should their be financial help for foreign countries such as a diaster of some sort,

I agree religion and spirituality shouldn't be rammed down people's throats out and about ect

FH27 · 20/02/2024 20:07

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 20/02/2024 13:35

Where do you abandon your trolley then?

Side of the path up against a bollard. There is a wide path at the supermarket I frequent, enough for a trolley either side and still wheelchair/ pram access. Sometimes I may leave it in front of the building, again a wide path. If there isn't anywhere suitable then I take to the trolley park. I also try to avoid the trolley park because people rarely place their trolleys in considerately. Big trolleys behind smaller trolleys meaning that they eventually spill out and block the road. It's a really bug bear of mine. This means I have to spend a few minutes organising them so they slot into each other neatly which defeats the object. Loads of people put their trolley in the park but many don't both to slot them into the one in front, especially if people have already abandoned theirs in a way which means it's an effort to place your trolley in neatly.

Trolleysaregoodforemployment · 20/02/2024 20:33

Tdcp · 20/02/2024 14:16

Not returning to the bays or not returning to the store front?

Either, depending on the store. The stores are normally very big so somewhere along the front is usually fine or along a path, if it wide enough not to block or make awkward for wheelchair/ pram users. If there is no suitable space, I will take it back but I try to avoid it.

EbonyRaven · 20/02/2024 20:37

I usually take my trolley back or pop it into a bay.
