just That, normal chip shop food, nothing fancy

1 portion of large chips
2 savaloys or sausage ( I know some places don’t have savaloy but they are the same price )
portion of chicken nuggets (6 with no chips )

The price for the chips is ridiculous! Where in the country is this?

Large chips £3.70
Saveloy £3 each
Nuggests £4
So £13.70 in total. Would have been under £10 a year ago

£6.50 in our Liverpool chippy, though that was for large sausages not savaloys!

£12-£14 here in East Scotland. That's an outrageous price for chips. Did they have gold salt on them or something?

Just looked it up - just less than £15 here. That’s deliveroo though, would be a couple of quid cheaper if I went into the shop. Not much though.

When I was 17 and worked in a chippy (25 years ago), all the kids would come in after school and buy a buttered bread roll for 20p and a half portion of chips for 35p.

also, many are ill-informed that having food delivered is often cost more not just the delivery charge. I'm not referring to the OP

£18.10 - I am assuming a smoked sausage is the Scottish equivalent.

Looked at the menu at our local, which is a decent chippy in North London - your food would be £12.10 in total.

I put the order together using my local chippy on just eat. We don't have saveloy here (Scotland) so smoked sausage seemed closest. I did small chips but we would tend to do suppers anyway (meaning chips are automatically included)
The nuggets could be done as a kids meal at £5 with chips, lollipop, toy and and drink included too.

£10.50 for the closest order to yours

6 Chicken nuggets - £7.20
Sausage - £4.30 each x2 £8.60
Large chips - £4.50

Total = £20.30

£12.10 - in the East

Large chips - £4.20

Two sausages - £3.40. Weirdly, two jumbo sausages cost the same. Don't know if they are made of the same.stuff as the smaller ones.

Chicken nuggets come in fives or tens, so five chicken nuggets £3.10.

£10.70 in total.
