I don’t like champagne or oysters and I’m not really a handbag person but it’s obvious that the OP is spoiling herself/ being spoilt and the handbag is really pretty so good on her!!The picture made me smile. I think any designer item with visible logos is tacky. I would not wear or carry anything with those interlocking Gs on. It is a matter of taste. The same reason I hate personalised numberplates. This is equally tacky. To me.

I sort of see what you're saying, but those Gs are very discreet, they aren't huge. I just love the way the colours go together, very springlike and made me smile.

Exactly. It is so weird how people feel the need to tear someone down so viciously , it makes me wonder what they must be like in their own lives. Not anyone I'd like to know, that's for sure.

Yes it's tacky, but in a sad way. It's not a thing of beauty, the colours are garish. It was purchased as a status item..that's why it's sad. Op could have bought something stunning. Not pebbled leather.

I agree. I don't like citing them because I don't really like them, but the Kardashians are an example of this. They are very wealthy and they all are very blingy.

It means old money though doesn't it. Old money rarely spend on flashy things. My neighbour is stately home rich. (actual Manor House) I get invited to dinner parties, everyone looks like they are wearing clothes from two dacades ago 😂 You might see an old Mullberry bag, but you can guarantee it's 30 years old, and from a time when handbags were not such status symbols.
You will be served incredibly expensive wine, and the guests cars will be a mix of AM and straw filled VW.

Yes I hate all visible logos. But the designer ones feel even more tacky as they seem to be more ‘show-offy’ due to the money spent.

I also used to hate hoodies and tops with the massive GAP logos. They were always left in the sale, so were clearly not that popular! My daughter loves Hollister clothes as they are soft and comfortable but she won’t buy anything with the logo visible. Who wants to advertise a shop?!

Yuck to oysters and bag- horrible colours and naff.
