Every news report, every newspaper that I've seen all have about TS and her kissing her 'winning' boyfriend (who doesn't seem that nice) at the Superbowl

There are many, MANY more important things to hear/read about than this.

OP posts:

Boyfriend doesn't seem nice / He's a big bloke

seems to me it's the OP that doesn't seem nice.

Edited

How on earth does the OP ‘not seem nice’?! They were simply saying the coverage seems a bit much. Isn’t this a forum for opinions?

This. I knew nothing about it.

She's definitely massively overexposed now though (Phil Collins had this) and there will come a backlash. She's a pleasant enough girl with a so so voice and cheesy songs co-written with her team of songwriters that cater to a young, predominantly white female demographic.

She doesn't have 'a team of songwriters '. She has some co-writers but is the main writer. The Speak Now album is nothing but her. I bet she outsells Adele and Sheeran too.
Elvis Presley never wrote a song in his life, not does Streisand (bar one) or the aforementioned Kylie, but they get no stick for it.

Ignore those who say they’ve not seen any evidence of the over the top coverage OP.

I was in the gym yesterday and they had the tvs on. I swear that for most of the time there they were talking about Taylor Swift and NFL. It was seriously confusing. We’re not an NFL loving country. Most people wouldn’t even know the teams playing. it was proper cringey.

This is the problem with 24 ‘news’ and reduced budgets for proper journalism. All the channels buy stories and footage from the same suppliers, of just grab stuff form Twitter, and it all plays on loop. Then they get a dolled up woman sitting beside some middle aged ‘holding court’ type of guy, to be anchors, who opine over the big ‘news’ story with various guests. It’s all showbiz bollocks now.

Why ignore? Just because you look at coverage. Not everyone watches TV

People really are woeful at getting not everyone watches what they do

You removed the context, why OP mentioned he is a big bloke. He shoved his coach. Being aggressive to your coach is not nice.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if all those saying they haven't seen or heard anything about it are just talking rubbish in an attempt to look more intellectual than they are. 😂😂

beguilingeyes · 13/02/2024 11:01

This is the problem with 24 hour rolling news. They have to find something to talk about. It's hardly TS's fault. I sit opposite BBC news and today it's back to Gaza and Indian famers protest.

Today the news cycle has moved on and the Super Bowl is nowhere.

As usual and expected.

Thread about climate change and poor Taylor Swift is the only one who gets dragged. Pretty sure there are lots of other people who fly in their private jets. 😂

Unless big businesses and celebrities like Taylor Swift change their ways, nothing you or I do will change a thing.

I'm mixed race and it's very rare I pick up on a comment that mentioned white people, simple because it's not my demographic, a this is not my kind of music

but I'm curious as to why a young white songwriter "catering to a young, predominantly white female demographic" is problematic?

I mean the way it's written comes across as derogatory. Is there a reason the young white female demographic can't be catered to?

I mean yes it's over catered too, but I'm just wondering why it's specifically an issue that Taylor Swift caters to it?

Other than she's a youngish female artist and therefore the butt of mysoginistic comments?

And since when are we calling grown women girls? Again just sounds like the point is to belittle her.

It all sounds far too "woman know thy place," tall poppy syndrome to me

Because she decided that TS'S boyfriend wasn't nice because he was on the large side. That's not nice is it?

I am guessing that you aren't even a sports fan let alone an American football fan.
