So basically I am fed up in my marriage. My DH works long hours and it varies when he is getting home. He does earn a decent amount (75k) and I do appreciate that he has to work. He has season tickets for various sports and hobbies 2 nights per week which can leave him doing something at least every Saturday/Sunday. He also has a lads night once per week and goes to various gigs etc. He says I am being unreasonable and its healthy to get out with friends etc, which I agree, I would love to go out with my friends but I am so tired I would rather just go to bed. I have raised the concern with him and he has dropped the hobby that he does twice a week. I can still never guarantee when he is coming home from and it makes me so miserable and I feel so alone.

Advice from my 93 year old nan.

Would you rather have a poor man's rose and be happy and loved with whatever he brings home.

Or a rich man's gold no love but money and loneliness.

When do you have couple time together?

If you're just the housekeeper then you have to decide if that's your future or you want something better.

Find a babysitter.. He can afford it... May shame him into shaping up and contributing more than dollar to his family...

Absolutely if he won't step up and do it he can pay for someone else who will

He sounds an extremely selfish man, why do his family need to know what is going on in your household!!

I would be doing my own thing on Sundays and any other evenings as soon as he arrives home.

Do you feel loved and respected OP? If not, then you need to decide what drastic action needs to be taken. This is not OK.

on these days (to start with) do nothing but self care no house work etc from 9-2

you do have bigger problems!! but it might help in the short term to put you first

You have two young children and he goes out three times a week, including a 'lads night out'? He needs to grow up. He sounds like a 20 year old uni student without any responsibilities. Also why do women on MN always use the word 'hobby'? It's always either football, golf or cycling.
