since 2021 I’ve been suffering stage 4 Endometriosis and a Endometrioma Cyst (chocolate cyst) last measured 6 months ago my cyst was sitting at 30CM.

I will include a couple of photos.
im on every medication that you could think of for pain relief.

This all started due to my section when I had my child the surgeon left tissue inside of my that was suppose to me taking away a trainee was also involved in this at this time.
( I didn’t sign anything for a trainee to be involved in my surgery) it was an emergency c section.

Now I am regularly at the doctors see my GP trying to have this sorted I know there is a waiting list but I am absolutely sick and tired of the NHS they are saying they are still working behind from covid patients in the gynaecology department for surgery.
now I’ve been on the waiting list for surgery since 2021 I called last week to the secretary of the surgeon that is doing the surgery and she told me I possible have another 76 WEEKS until surgery is due.

how can I possible deal with my life is turned up side down I no longer can do anything with my kids or have a life it’s completely destroyed me in every way.

Of course she should! How rude of you to decide whether OP is well enough or not!
She is losing years of her life with her small children, in pain and unable to walk, move, work!

We should all stop fighting to get the medical attention we deserve?! We should suffer all of our lives and die in pain?!

Come on. Sort yourself out.

Op, you've got this. Keep the fire inside you and advocate for yourself. Email every single gynaecologist/secretary. Daily.
Complain to the board, your mp. You need this sorting. Sending as much fight your way as I can!

Catsonskis · 07/02/2024 18:03

@Lovelyjubbbly I’ve just read an update from today when you were on all 4s breathing through the pain, go to A&E. you are in acute pain, if nothing else you need appropriate pain relief

Oblomov23 · 07/02/2024 18:13

Did you speak to the GP again today? Ask for the referral to be chased? Talked to GP about the pain you are in? Did you also speak to the Practice Manager? Did you phone the appts team at the hospital? Did you phone the consultants secretary? All those things combined might help.

IfalldownbutIgetupagain · 07/02/2024 18:21

OP you’re concentrating on the wrong thing with the negligence claim. Even if you do have a case they take years to be paid.

If you are still in agony like earlier you need to go to A&E. If it’s gone off ( hopefully) then go to A&E next time it flares up like that.

I agree with half of this but secondary care waiting times have nothing to do with the GP. If the GP spends all their time chasing all the metre long waiting lists they won't have time to see patients. And then that's another problem.

Speak to the consultants secretary. Email them. Speak to PALS. Complain to your MP.

Starchipenterprise · 07/02/2024 20:15

I have heard of people who have gone to A&E in severe pain and have been bumped up the surgery list, but follow that great advice above too. So hope you get it sorted soon.

I’m sick and tired of the Covid excuse been used I understand wait times but this just ridiculous.

today so far I’ve put a complaint in to the health board

contacted the local MP

Well done OP for doing this OP. Keep shouting and keep sharing on here for support

Lovelyjubbbly · 07/02/2024 21:59

@CatOnAMushroom
today the bruising has been horrible trying to care for young kids plus care for myself is unbearable. Had 4 hours sleep last night due to pain so been trying to catch up on sleep and deal with speaking to everyone I need to.
my Gp was on call today but I’ve to call in the morning and there going to try get me in to see towards the morphine that someone requested to try.
when and if I manage to get appointments tomorrow I’m going ask him to have a look at my tummy and see if he can get me seen at the hospital tomorrow.
the GP receptionist asked today if I wanted to come off my cocodomal and put on to tramadol and see if that helps? But it’s very hard been all of these medication and be here with the 2 kids and try and function.

my mum offered to collect the kids from school tomorrow and give them dinner and drop them off for bed time (plus they get in the hot tub at hers) so they’re very excited for that!

@Lovelyjubbbly

Does the surgery put Book On The Day appointments online during the night?

You might be able to go online after 12 pm and book an appointment if you already have a log-in for the NHS website or Patient Access.

Lovelyjubbbly · 08/02/2024 08:47

@TheSquareMile

no they don’t do online I called at 8 this morning I managed to get to see my own Dr at 3.15 today.

Why are you not going to A&E, like multiple posters have suggested to you? Your GP cannot do any more for you right now.

Flamme · 08/02/2024 09:25

Catsonskis · 06/02/2024 20:02

Hi OP, I’m an NHS manager and I’m so sorry you’re suffering and struggling and being treated this way.
May advice to you is to contact PALs (patient liaison service) or if they don’t have one at your trust in Scotland, contact either the complaints department and or the directorate manager for gynaecology (if the latter’s detail is not on the trust website, call switchboard and ask either to be put through to them or for their email address.

when you contact them explain the following:

  • this initial inquest is informal but should you not get a satisfactory response you will escalate the concern to a formal complaint
  • Detail your timeline of events, including your symptoms.
  • ask for a full pathway validation to ensure that your RTT clock is appropriate and you are at the right weeks wait (every patient should have a clock started when the gp refers you, pre Covid the aim was 92% treated within 18 weeks but now the aim is everyone who is 65 weeks and over to be treated by end of March. Not many trusts are reporting many cases more than 100 weeks, and if you were referred in 2021, you would surely be their longest waiter - hence I don’t think your pathway is accurate.
  • next I would ask for a clinical review of your pathway from a consultant - to ensure your priority code (P1-4, 1 being emergency, 2 urgent, 3 non-urgent, 4 planned) is correct and inline with your weeks wait, and your clinical indication from your letters.
  • ask specifically for the feedback from both these reviews.
  • ask what their plan is to treat you within the next few months
  • ask for a face to face outpatient appointment with your consultant.

if they come back with a response and you want me to sense check it, please feel free to DM me.

each patient over 56 weeks wait should have a full validation and review by the operational team and a clinical risk stratification regularly.

I hope you get some answers and more importantly some treatment soon.

ps, leave your gp alone, they’ll be as frustrated as you and literally as unable to do anything about it as your post man sadly.

good luck and reach out if you need any thing explaining further

Have you followed this advice, OP?

TigerJoy · 08/02/2024 09:42

GO TO A&E if you are in this much pain. They will give you stronger painkillers

AND

you might get seen by the right person who can speed up surgery.

I have endo and was receiving fairly crap treatment as the fantastic local endo centre was full and wouldn't take any more patients. I went to A&E with uncontrollable pain and the gynaecologist who saw me got me into the centre. I had a second (and this time successful) surgery as a result.

If you're in this much pain with swelling go to A&E!

Honestly they might scan you/ start looking into what is wrong.

You need to be seen at a hospital, - your GP cannot help you anymore.

IfalldownbutIgetupagain · 08/02/2024 19:20

How did you get on at the GP today? I’m hoping he sent you to the hospital

Lovelyjubbbly · 08/02/2024 22:48

@IfalldownbutIgetupagain
i went to the Doctors he called the hospital to speak to the gynaecologist been recommended to be put on a Mirens coil and combine it with a Depo jag both together.
also been prescribed 50mg of tramadol to be taking on ovulation week and period week instead of cocodomal on they weeks

he also chased up for my surgery the gynaecologist said best thing to do is email in to the health board to chase this up and look in to it I have done this already.

hes booked me in for 2 weeks time to be seen again.

Paw2024 · 08/02/2024 23:13

I can't remember if I linked these or not
I'm on day 3 of my period and haven't taken a painkiller yet which is unheard of
Used these from day 1. Don't know how they work, don't care, not in pain Grin

TheSquareMile · 08/02/2024 23:28

@Lovelyjubbbly

That sounds like good news, OP.

How are you feeling now?

Lovelyjubbbly · 09/02/2024 08:09

@Paw2024

thanks for the recommendation I will look for these and buy them anything helps at this stage thank you .

I’ve been on Ralvo Patches at 700mg from day one they recommended 1 patch for 12 hours then 12hour resting period but I can’t physically put it on my tummy due to the swelling and the pain only place I can put them close to it is my hip or back one doesn’t do anything so I had 3 on at one time did work for a while but doesn’t anymore.

and been on painkillers is horrible I hate it
