Just feel like being cheered up with all the doom and gloom.
I’ll start.
Had my hair cut and for once it’s just how I wanted it. Think it makes me look a bit younger. 🙂

Nothing much today, but Saturday was a really lovely day and I was very happy! We went to put flowers on my parents' grave three quarters of an hour away, then on the way back we decided not to go straight home but to go on to a cafe we know that does a really good home made steak and kidney pie. We then went to look round a garden centre where I spotted some pots I knew my daughter would like and had a conversation with her about them. This is the first such conversation we have had in 9 months, so that made me very happy. The weather was sunny and bright, it was simply the best day.
We don't get that many really good days as I have been receiving treatment for cancer and my DH is being investigated for possible cancer as well, so to have a really special care-free day is something special.

Sitting on a wall outside the school waiting for dd to finish an after school thing. The sun was shining, really lovely view and it was nice and peaceful.

I went to work at a different building, to be 'shown the ropes' for a role I've been asked to cover

Not only did I spend 2/3 of the time explaining the system to the person who was 'training' me, I also set up a full PC station (station? Workstation?) And managed to get it all working

I'm not even IT!

Isthismyforever · 29/01/2024 20:40

My dog 🐕

I finished my training to be a MH peer supporter and felt like I’d really clicked with the other volunteers and had a warm glow.
Did a great yoga class and realised I’m actually feeling bendier.

A quite vulnerable, awkward student with low self-confidence about her studies happily announced that I'm her favourite teacher. What makes me happy about that is not that I feel the need to be anyone's favourite, it's that it makes me really happy that she feels happy and supported in my class, especially as she is one of the weaker ones in my subject.

My dd won a award, employee of the year, she's over the moon especially as she took the job as was bullied out of one she loved to the point of a breakdown. She's like a different person, works with lovely people, a lovely boss and has been also offered a place on a supervisor training course, I'm so happy for her.

Mathsbabe · 29/01/2024 20:49

Swimming in the outdoor pool.

I guessed which lightbulb to buy for a lamp at home, and I got the right one. It came in a pack of 2 so now I also have a spare.

Sourisblanche · 29/01/2024 20:54

I just dropped teen ds off at football practise. We were 10 mins early and we sat in the car had a chat and laugh about stuff rather than both immediately opening phones.

Hmmm, still waiting.....

How about a big, massive virtual hug from a friendly Mumsnet stranger BinkyBeaufort? 🤗🤗

Mummypete · 29/01/2024 20:59

I’ve been at home sick with tonsillitis. DH came home from work with flowers, lucozade and vegan magnums to sooth my throat.

Eukanuba · 29/01/2024 21:03

My glorious best friend submitting her notice . It was a joy to see the tension melt away from her .

Seasaltsquall · 29/01/2024 21:07

A customer who is non-pc and made me lol. And my dog, just being a sweetheart.

Mammma91 · 29/01/2024 21:08

I had a pregnancy growth scan today at 30 weeks and baby is measuring as he should at 3lb. My last pregnancy baby’s weight plummeted and I had steroids and was on bed rest until he he was born at 37 weeks. I had a knot in my stomach all weekend on the lead up to the scan and I’m so happy I haven’t had a repeat like last time. I hope
you all had a lovely Monday!

Goawaytina · 29/01/2024 21:10

My 4 year old had no toileting accidents at nursery today, a big achievement for her as she really struggles getting to the toilet in time. Her little face lit up when her nursery teacher told me she'd been dry all day 🥰

JoantheVampireSlayer · 29/01/2024 21:10

Literally nothing 😔

Glad for all of you though!

Nannyfannybanny · 29/01/2024 21:11

Walked out to the car, primroses almost in flower. Took the dogs on the beach,it was mild and sunny.

anicecuppateaa · 29/01/2024 21:11

My 1 year old spontaneously said ‘love you’ for the first time on saying goodnight to his brother and sister.

Crushed23 · 29/01/2024 21:11

My legendary chocolate protein porridge.

I literally go to bed looking forward to the next morning when I can have it again. 😃

It is so delicious!

Tarkan · 29/01/2024 21:13

For anyone who hasn't had anything nice today, I send you this cute little happy onion and I hope tomorrow brings something nice for you all.

To ask about what made you happy today
fuckssaaaaake · 29/01/2024 21:14

How happy my daughter was to see me at nursery pick up, and also I made a banging dinner of harissa chicken

MonsteraMama · 29/01/2024 21:15

I saw some snowdrops on my morning walk. It was absolutely wazzing it down mind you, but the snowdrops still made me happy and hopeful for spring.

My husband came home with pistachio ice cream because he said I looked a bit down this morning and thought it'd cheer me up. Pistachio is my favourite and it definitely cheered me up.
