I've had a thread on here before about this and found it really useful as there's no one in real life who doesn't look at me in horror if I even mention this.
You know how people have SAD when the nights draw in , I have it the other way round. This morning, the birdsong by me set me off. Its like a sense of dread. I think it's to do with change. I don't cope well with change generally, I have anxiety made worse by peri menopause so I think moving from something you know well and feel happy with (the dark nights) into something new makes me feel a bit unsettled . Are you the same? Want to chat about it?

Sept is my favourite time of the year and I love Christmas so the change into autumn winter is great for me.
Spring into summer seems to flow, so I only really get it at the start of spring.
What's weird is I don't hate summer, I enjoy holidays and sitting outside . I like the warm weather. Its just the transitions I can't cope with

I'm very similar to you. Love autumn and the run up to Christmas. I find summer stressful with all the expectations with it. I like to hybernate and can't deal with heat.

I hate spring...it's cold , but yet not cold enough to wear big coats and hats and scarves.
I can never figure out what to wear, I'm always too hot or too cold.
It's light in the evening but cold...you can't pull curtains and snuggle up by the fire but you also can't sit outside sipping a glass of wine.
It's usually wet too...
It' doesn't have the promise of Christmas like autumn does ..the promise of summer in the UK is hardly well... promising is it ?

Reflecting on this thread I really think the problem for me is the clocks going forward. A more gradual transition to lighter evenings without the abrupt return to dark mornings would be easier.

To be fair we've had much better weather here this year so I've been able to appreciate all the blossom and daffodils without the endless rain.

Whilst I like spring, I am with you about abrupt changing. The arguments for having different times winter and summer no longer exist any more, and the discussion should be whether to have GMT or BST all year round.

BST was an idea to have longer daylight for cricket matches, now you have floodlights for cricket be it the proper versions or the T20 nonsense.

GMT in winter was to help those who start early in mines and factories, most of whom have been closed.

I detest Spring, people are always surprised when I express this.
For me it's the looking like it's a beautiful sunny day but actually it's fucking freezing and I just cannot for the life of me get my wardrobe in sync 😭
Also, I still need my heating on but DH thinks it's warm enough to go without.
Bring on the actual summer please.

I'm ok with Spring, but don't like it being light at 9 or 10 o'clock at night.

Very much agree. The change to BST really disorientates me and affects my mood. And in places like Aberdeen, a 4am sunrise and an 11:20pm sunset is a bit much IMO. It felt bad enough where I grew up - 4:20am sunrise and 10:45pm sunset.
