Lacking a bit of inspiration this weekend, what is everyone else up to?

OP posts:
43ontherocksporfavor · 19/01/2024 20:49

Just watching Oppenheimer ( late to the party) and having a break after I fell asleep 😴. Big dog walk Saturday and Sunday as usual, cleaning and not much else S both under the weather and recovering from colds and coughs after a week at work so lots of sleep hopefully.

BarrelOfOtters · 19/01/2024 20:50

Going to that there London to see a play and then a band and catch up with relatives. There will be food and drink involved.

a normal weekend is dog walking and Sunday tea with in laws. Bit of cleaning, maybe the gym…

EmpressSoleil · 19/01/2024 20:53

I've been redecorating my kitchen, painting the cupboards etc. I have some bits to finish off there tomorrow. Then on Sunday I am doing bugger all! As I have been working like crazy on said kitchen and need a rest!

Ffswhatshappenednow · 19/01/2024 20:54

Made homemade pizza faces with Dd tonight and watched Frozen.
Teaching in the morning, then big food shop with Dd, dog walk and Gruffalo hunt, making a bird feeder with Dd, Gruffalo cooking and nachos for dinner.
Sunday-friends bday lunch by the beach, then chill at home whilst Dd goes to her neighbour friend to play for a few hours. Probs make pie and mash for dinner, then popcorn for movie night with Dd

@LaPalmaLlama i loved Slow Horses!

Lazy night here, I had a nap before dinner and now sat debating a film with DH.

Bootcamp in the morning then DH and I are driving DD and her friends to the cinema (and Starbucks for some insta worthy pic 🙄) so we will go a walk for coffee and a mooch around the sales.
The friends are staying at ours so thinking take away pizza for them and seafood for DH and I.

Sunday morning pancakes for the teens then a bit of housework before my parents are coming for Sunday dinner.

Forthwith · 19/01/2024 21:16

Saturday

Yoga in the morning
Coffee with my Mum
Housework
Cinema with DH in the evening

Sunday

Meeting a friend early for coffee and a walk of it’s not pissing down followed by a roast dinner and a bath!

Andywarholswig · 19/01/2024 21:18

Babysitting my nephews whilst my brother and wife are away for a long weekend. Will drag them to football for DD1 on Saturday and will have to brave Ikea on Sunday afternoon as I need a new bathroom light. Roll on Monday (evil aunty)

LemongrassLollipop · 19/01/2024 21:54

Really need to catch up on some work, try to do an hour at least.
Try to get out for fresh air and to tire kids out.
Chivvy daughter to do homework so it's done for the week and no stress the night before it's due.
Find time to wash my hair.
Laundry.
Clean the inside of the car. There's so many leaves part mushed into the mats I may as well start a compost heap in there 🤣🤣

goodkidsmaadhouse · 19/01/2024 22:23

You don’t want my weekend… it’s going to involve ferrying kids to a lot of sporting commitments all over the place. Currently trying to decide which audiobook I want to introduce them to for the drives!

justjuggling · 20/01/2024 00:29

Saturday - mainly chores - washing, vacuuming , cleaning the bathrooms etc and pop into the post office to send a parcel. Them a friend’s 60th birthday party in the evening.

Sunday - batch cooking and baking for the week ahead, watch Call the Midwife and early night.

mondaytosunday · 20/01/2024 01:01

My son (20) is visiting and wants to go skating. Then dinner out, maybe movie at home after. Sunday he promised his sister he'll make a banana cheesecake! We will see if the kitchen can handle it! Then we'll have roast lamb for dinner. In between dog walks etc. He goes back Monday.

tobee · 20/01/2024 01:35

Dh and I going for dinner and then movie tomorrow night.

Sunday dunno yet. Probably spend morning thinking what to cook. Then rushing to shop to buy ingredients. Then cooking. Then the excitement of doing online supermarket order and putting out the bins.

Seren2023 · 20/01/2024 06:26

DC have activities in the morning but it’s drop off so I am having a much-needed massage for neck and back pain.

Then supermarket for weekly shop and people coming round for drinks and dinner Sat night so need to tidy and clean house a bit more. 😊it’s ok standard right now but not guest-ready. 🤣

Tomorrow, need to do some exercise so might take DC swimming and also have some work to finish up. As well as a bit of vegging out on the sofa!

Slightly Resent doing the work at a weekend but really busy at work right now So not much choice - need to look at managing my time better. Holy Grail.

hattie43 · 20/01/2024 06:43

MrsToothyBitch · 20/01/2024 07:00

We are away for the weekend- so driving there, meeting up with friends and shopping for nice cheese for tonights cheese and wine today. Then walking, brunch and heading home tomorrow. Will do some life admin en route. Just got up to pack and wash hair.

whyamiawakestill · 20/01/2024 07:02

Love these.

For me test drive a new car, food shopping, driving and collecting teens from a party. Sunday working on our renovation project, dog walk and pub. Just debating booking a roast dinner out with friends but we are spending a bit much eating out as I can't be arsed to cook!

OldTinHat · 20/01/2024 07:17

My plans have been postponed because of the weather warning, so I'm also scratching my head about what to do. So far, all I've come up with is a walk to the chemist this morning to pick up my prescription.

I think, other than that, I'll mostly drink wine.

SuspiciousLampshade · 20/01/2024 07:17

I am defending my PhD on Monday, not in the uk so its a bit more intense than a Viva - so I'll be spending the whole weekend preparing for that! Will also try and get out on some walks and I have our two DC Sunday morning as DH is off to a christening on his side of the family and kids aren't invited (which I think is a bit strange for a christening but hey ho)

So nice to read about everyone else's plans!

Hoglet70 · 20/01/2024 08:00

DH is working all weekend but I have exciting plans like housework, dog walking, maybe getting my laptop out and doing a bit of work. Oh the excitement never ends! The dog has just reminded me she needs me to squeeze some cuddles in to my packed weekend schedule so there may be some vegetating in front of the TV (covered in dog) happening too.

Forgettheworld · 20/01/2024 08:05

DS 5 is at his swimming lesson this morning then at his friends birthday party.
probably have a walk and park this afternoon. Chinese for tea.

Tomorrow DS 11 is playing football, DS 5 at another birthday party.

InMySpareTime · 20/01/2024 09:04

Today I'm painting the gates of heaven, building a human scale Barbie box, fitting a "recording" light to a recording studio, taping together a very long word on a scrolling sign, and checking the paint on some wood effect wooden buckets hasn't chipped.
Tomorrow I'm resting after morning church.

43ontherocksporfavor · 20/01/2024 16:18

Sounds fun @InMySpareTime im guessing you work in stage production of some sort

InMySpareTime · 20/01/2024 16:30

Making set for a Scouts show. I volunteer to put myself through all this weirdness!

G40NEW · 20/01/2024 16:38

Today I had a driving lesson, did a food shop, went for a run. Needed something new to watch so opted to rewatch Sex and the City, not sure if it will have aged badly but enjoyed the nostalgia from the first couple of episodes.

i am now laid in the bath, this evening is a curry and mindless Saturday night tv. Most likely gladiators and masked singer.

tomorrow is my cleaning day so I have the upstairs of the house to do, I will strip the beds and wash all the towels as well

will aim to do another run tomorrow as really need to work on my fitness.

going to make a slow cooked minted lamb stew with veg, mash and Yorkshire pudding for tomorrow evening and probably try and lure the kids off their computers with some board games we haven’t opened from Christmas yet
