This morning I received a text at 6.52am (which buzzed and I saw straight away) saying I’d missed the delivery and would need to rearrange on the app. I went to do this and they wanted to charge me a delivery fee on top of what I’ve already paid for delivery.

Firstly, delivery before 7am is not okay, surely?

Secondly, there’s 5 in our house. I was awake at 6.50am as I’d heard dd1 (16) get up 5 minutes earlier and go downstairs. The delivery driver did not knock loud enough for us to hear - even the dog stayed snoring on my bed. If you’re delivering that early you need to knock loudly?

dh wfh so deliveries are never usually an issue.

AIBU to think delivering before 7am without prior warning is not normal? (For context, we’re not in a commuter town where people leave early for London).

Are you sure it's not a scam text?!

BlueBlueBerries · 15/01/2024 10:45

Are you sure that's not a scam message? I've never been charged for redelivery from Evri

Mrsjayy · 15/01/2024 10:47

that's clearly a scam nobody is asking for extra delivery money., did you pay anything?

bluechicky · 15/01/2024 10:48

That sounds like a scam. I've never had to pay to reschedule.

km21 · 15/01/2024 10:48

It’s a scam Evri don’t charge for redelivery. Don’t enter any details

AmandaHoldensLips · 15/01/2024 10:48

Evri are absolutely crap and often will send messages about a failed delivery when they haven't even been near the address. I know this because it's happened to me several times and no way on earth did they even knock on my door.

AlltheFs · 15/01/2024 10:49

Scam! They don’t do this. Please say you haven’t given them any details or payment?!

TeenLifeMum · 15/01/2024 10:50

It’s not a scam - item I’m expecting and it links to Evri. Fee is £1.04 so maybe I’m being unreasonable but I’m not a morning person and honestly, I’ll order the item elsewhere.

It links with emails from Evri and Accessorize (where I ordered the item).

That's not an Evri website I don't think. It's a scam.

Sk8erboi · 15/01/2024 10:52

This is a scam.

TeenLifeMum · 15/01/2024 10:53

Fee is actually £1.45 including vat. But it’s not really about the amount.

I'd say it is a scam. Try logging in to evri yourself, without following any links you've been sent and put the tracking number etc in. See what comes up. Evri don't charge for redelivery.

Mrsjayy · 15/01/2024 10:53

If you're expecting a delivery and you receive a 'missed parcel' message do not click on any text links you receive,” Evri says. “Only use our official app or website to track your parcel, and we will never charge a redirection fee.

from Evri website

mynameiscalypso · 15/01/2024 10:53

Please don't put in any details. It's absolutely not legit.

bombardelli · 15/01/2024 10:54

Aren’t they supposed to email you the window of delivery prior to the delivery? That’s what EVRI always do for my deliveries.

I would tell them you were available to answer the door and no attempt was made and ask for proof of attempted delivery.

If you think they did attempt delivery I would ask why you weren’t given advance notice of the timeslot.

Edited to add: it does sound like a scam. Even if it’s only £1.45, it’s still likely s scam.

mynameiscalypso · 15/01/2024 10:54

If you have paid it, you should cancel your card ASAP. You might also want to sign up to an identity fraud prevention service (CIFAS have one).

It's fake. Change your email password.

AtLeastHalfRelieved · 15/01/2024 10:58

It's absolutely categorically 100% a scam.

Look at the website address it's taken you to - that's not an official Evri website!!

Don't pay a penny or give any details.

TeenLifeMum · 15/01/2024 10:58

I’ve not paid it but glad I posted as hopefully it’ll raise awareness. I would have paid if it was an item I cared more about.

The thing is, I don’t get that many deliveries and had an email from Evri saying my order was out for delivery this morning so it felt entirely legitimate. Like there’s been a data breach? It’s very convincing - that’s scary!

oh well, customer service can be confused by my early morning rant.

I've had the same. It's a scam. Somehow they know you're expecting a parcel from Evri. In my case, package had just been delivered. Mine came email not text, and I hovered over the email address it came from and could see it wasn't genuine.

peachgreen · 15/01/2024 10:59

Look at the URL – evriuk-returnedparcel. That's not the Evri website.

AtLeastHalfRelieved · 15/01/2024 10:59

This is a close up from your screenshot. That is NOT a legit website for Evri!
