Much as I try to advice this kind of ‘news’ it is everywhere atm.

Anyone else reading this news and thinking if he wasn’t a footballer he’d just be a waste of space cock lodger?

I continue to be amazed at what women will tolerate for the sake of money or in the pursuit of fame.

Basically he fathered a child with another woman whilst being married. His wife stood by him. He publicly declared OW was nothing to him. He’s now admitted he’s the father of the OW’s second child. His wife has kicked him out but I wouldn’t be surprised if she takes him back and it seems the OW is doing the pick me dance.

Wow. I just read the court docs. He’s paying a whopping £8k a month child support and that’s just for the first kid. Plus all the extra things she wangled out of him.

He earns circa 3 x that a day just on his basic salary. It's nothing to him

Thepeopleversuswork · 14/01/2024 12:48

KevinDeBrioche · 14/01/2024 03:11

I feel so, so sorry for Annie and all the kids caught up in this. I know some of her extended family and they are absolutely lovely, very steady people so hopefully AK has a support team around her. Very glad she married him and hope she rinses him completely.

as for LG, well she’s coming out of this about as well as KW. NO chance those two will be together for any length of time.

this is a wider societal issue as others have pointed out. Treating women despicably is rife in football and as a lifelong fan it really hurts to say that.

I feel desperately sorry for the children and obviously it’s humiliating for her, sure.

But isn’t the whole point of marrying a PL footballer to take his money? Whether you do the Colleen Rooney Faustian pact or you leave and them to the cleaners: surely that’s the rationale for the relationship?

Nobody marries these intellectually limited, arrogant and sex obsessed Neanderthals for any other reason. It’s a contract.

The wife is set up for life and a bit of tabloid embarrassment is the price she will pay. The OW will get some maintenance settlement (nowhere near what she wants but enough for her children to have a decent life) and the world keeps on turning.

The only moral concern I have is for the children. The two women involved are both gold diggers, one more successful and with a classier veneer than the other. But that’s the bottom line really. No one with any self respect thinks marrying a footballer is a route to a dignified and autonomous financial life. You lie down with dogs, you get fleas. You may get very wealthy but married or not it’s tacky as fuck. They are both as bad as each other.

Theatrefan12 · 14/01/2024 10:41

This 100%

Can add Coleen Rooney to that list. These women like the money and lifestyle too much to have any self respect for themselves and their children

Silly argument. If they separated they’d have half of the wealth, so tens of millions. They’d have a very similar lifestyle to what they have now.

I'm not sure tbh. They weren't in a relationship that failed - she set out to get pg (twice no less) , knowing g the father she was providing for her kid is a piece of shit. She's done that to them on purpose and I don't believe that behaviour should be rewarded by massive pay outs.
Absolutely he should have to contribute 50% to the costs of his kids, so I'd support him having to pay the nursery fees, and to keep them decently housed and fed. But that shouldn't extend to supporting the mother to sit on her arse with her hand out.
Children cost what they cost, no matter that he earns.

She set out to get pregnant? Really? Using the same logic, it would be accurate then that he set out to get her pregnant (twice, no less) because he clearly wasn’t taking any steps to avoid pregnancy.

No one forced him to have unprotected sex with her multiple times.

Also, she isn’t supporting her to sit about on her arse all day. He is supporting her to raise their two children on her own.

If he doesn't like it, he should have used protection. He was foolish enough to get her pregnant twice and initially refused to have anything to do with the child although sounds like that has changed. I don't like her but he's left her to be a lone parent and refused to take responsibility so the least he can do is pay up. Maybe if he decided to be a 50/50 father he could pay her less, he's chosen not to do that.

Meh with that money she can easily afford a nanny.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 14/01/2024 13:03

I think his wife had her head screwed on by marrying him! They'd been together and unmarried for years. He had an affair and the other woman had a child. She didn't marry him until after. It means she'll get a decent settlement and not just maintainence. It looks to me like she was always planning to leave and just playing the long game.

Very well written.

They’re all in the wrong to some extent (him the most, then LG, then AK). 2 of them being female doesn’t get them off the hook, or excuse them from clearly shit decision making.

LG has decided the stability and privacy of her children is an acceptable price to pay to land a tacky mansion, a big payout and a bit of drama to keep her entertained.

AK has pretty much decided the same albeit she is the wronged party in the cheating.

And the only person Kyle Walker loves is Kyle Walker.

Sure, but let’s not pretend that raising two children on your own is “sitting about on your arse all day”.

If you read the judge's statement he says as Annie Kilner doesn't have a nanny he doesn't see why Lauren needs one.

The OW doesn't want to look after her children, she wanted a meal ticket that's why she asked to court to get him to pay for a nanny.

If you have a nanny or use a nursery, and have the money for cleaners and help, you can most definitely sit on your arse. Whether or not she does I have no idea.

InAMess2023 · 14/01/2024 13:09

@Vivi0 she doesn't. She pays her own mother £2k a month to look after them. She wanted a nanny on top of the maintenance (for some reason even AFTER age of 18) yet she doesn't have any job to speak of and made only £300 a year from 'influencing'

Toottooot · 14/01/2024 13:09

She also wanted an au pair along with the nanny.

Anyone who has witnessed with their own eyes (as I did when I worked in the nighttime industry in a big northern city) how desperate young women behave around footballers in nightclubs won’t be in the slightest bit surprised by what WAGs are prepared to tolerate. The words ‘flies round shit’ don’t even begin to cover it. If the players didn’t have security around them, they would be torn apart like baby antelope by packs of hyenas.

The reality is that to a particular sort of working class young woman, a footballer is a walking lottery jackpot, an instant ticket to a future of limitless, empty, shallow materialism, and as long as they are the ones who cash in, they accept being treated like crap. Sad but true.

It's not just working class....plenty of middle class women are equally enamoured by the fame and cash.
Half the girls at the local private schools aspire to marry footballers....and are out clubbing underage in order to achieve that
(The other half are probably footballers daughters)

Hocuspocusnonsense · 14/01/2024 14:14

The Daily Mail is really in overdrive on this story today, several stories.

I know everyone on MN allegedly hates the Daily Mail but I think lots read it.

Their ex husbands would also be shacked up with some other woman in 5 minutes, probably someone who would get them to marry them, have more kids, reducing the original wags influence, maybe share her kids with some woman who hates her kids because they are taking money away from them, be some washed up ex wag like Lizzie Cundy. They have made their beds and are mire than willing to lie in them.

Meanwhile there he is right now playing for his team without a care in the world.

You mean turning up for work and doing the job he is well paid for? 🙄

LlynTegid · 14/01/2024 15:15

@trythisforsize your comment about his appearance reminded me of Peter Crouch's response to the 'what you be if you weren't a footballer', to which his reply was ' a virgin'.

Beenalongwinter · 14/01/2024 13:20

He does sound grim but no worse than most PL footballers. This sort of behaviour is absolutely routine in this world, he's probably just unlucky in that he's been caught.

If you marry a thuggish oik like this guy you ought to know what you're getting into. I refuse to believe the women don't know.

This is why my sympathy is fairly limited, even for the wife. As long as she's married (which she is), she's going to be provided for probably beyond her wildest dreams. Who cares which girl he's shagging that week? None of it really impacts on the family's wealth, which is the primary consideration which these girls take on board when they shack up with these dreadful blokes.

As I said before, the only people I have sympathy for are the children whose childhoods are played out in full view of the public. The women are as culpable as the footballers.

I really don't think most PL players act like he does.

Why would the media be keeping that under wraps.

I'm not naive to what might go on but my home towm players can't go to their local shop without it being poated in the fan Facebook groups I'd be amazed if they could keep many secets nowadays

Thepeopleversuswork · 14/01/2024 16:15

@VisionsOfSplendour

Why would the media be keeping that under wraps.

I don't think the media is "keeping it under wraps" as such but footballers getting pissed and ordering some escorts is too routine to be newsworthy unless the footballer in question is a multi-million pound ace with one of the UK's most successful teams and the subject of a lawsuit.

I'm not sure who your home town team players are but I doubt any of them are that kind of box office. If one of them is on megabucks, is married and gets snapped with an escort on each knee it would probably get into the tabloids.

Kyle Walker is very high profile and there's an almighty slanging match going on between his wife and his mistress but at the lower end of the financial scale I'm sure there are similar things playing out on a weekly basis but not at that scale.

At any rate you'd have to be crazy to marry a bloke playing for a PL club and expect him to keep it in his trousers.
