To think unsightly bushy nose hairs should be banned?

Nothing grosses me out more than a person with a full bush protruding from their nose. You just think to yourself how these people get ready in the morning, look in the mirror and then think it’s acceptable to leave the house with disgusting black or grey hairs sticking out. Only takes a few seconds once a month to remove every nose hair you have and for you to look significantly more presentable!

Absolutely. Need a visit from the nose hair police.

IncompleteSenten · 12/01/2024 19:35

Lock them up and throw away the key.

I have lovely long hairs coming out of my piglike nose like a nest of spiders live up there.

I trim but every now and again when I'm waxing my legs and armpits, moustache and disturbingly luscious beard I decide to wax them too. I always seem to forget that the last time I did that I nearly pulled my brain out and the pain of ripping out a rather impressive thatch made me cry. Oh, it wasn't so bad, I lie to myself.

PolllyPockett · 12/01/2024 19:40

Haha. Very funny. Comedic genius here so far!

Still think they’re unsightly and people should take better care of themselves.

Nose hair I can ignore but BO is unforgivable.

Snowydaysfaraway · 12/01/2024 19:42

Nowt like a few stray hairs to dampen the sex drive...ime.
Shagging Amos was never on my To Do list..

theduchessofspork · 12/01/2024 19:43

Think of them as a nose bouquet OP, and their beauty shall be revealed

💐🤧💋

StopTheBusINeedAWeeWeeAWeeWeeBagOChips · 12/01/2024 19:43

Why does 'taking care of yourself' equate to removing hair that grows naturally?

Who decided that hair is bad?

I couldn't really care less tbh.

theduchessofspork · 12/01/2024 19:45

Or you could market some tiny scrunchies for nasal plaiting? That would make all the difference.

Malarandras · 12/01/2024 19:47

I can now only think about nasal plaiting. It’s forever embedded in my brain 😂

DancingFerret · 12/01/2024 19:53

Hideous - that and hairy ears. Fortunately, my OH feels the same way and has no fear of tweezers and a magnifying mirror, or our marriage might not have survived.

Possibly the only positive about the pandemic was no longer having to avoid hairy-nosed males who seemed to think going in for a peck in the cheek by way of greeting was perfectly acceptable social behaviour.

Moier · 12/01/2024 19:54

You mean on women? Never seen nose hair on females and never had it myself.
On men YUK.. but l don't like beards and mustaches either.. or hairy chests/ backs.. testicles. I think l suffer with chaetophobia.

Spinet · 12/01/2024 20:04

No yabu. I love a thick hank of lustrous nose hair. Longer the better.

WalkingThroughTreacle · 12/01/2024 20:13

They must have a purpose though surely? Nature hasn't just randomly decided that we need a healthy bush of nasal pubes in middle age for no reason at all.

IncompleteSenten · 12/01/2024 20:18

Nose hair is an air filtration system.
The hairs grow longer as we age because of changes to hair follicles.

JacquiDaytona · 12/01/2024 20:20

I have AU and not a single nose hair. Now though you can see right up my nose and it’s always tickly and itchy.

Enjoy your nasal hair, it’s more purposeful that I ever realised!!

KnowledgeableMomma · 12/01/2024 20:23

YABU. I don't gatekeep people's nose hair beauty or lack thereof. It's their nose, not mine. There are plenty of places for your delicate eyes to focus on, if someone's nose hair is making you lose your sh*t.

I'm a woman.
I've got pcos.
I'm fat, have androgenic alopecia, a moustache and beard (if I let the bastards grow), and as I age, my nose hair is joining the party along with my eyebrows. (Heseltine has nothing on me).

God I'm gorgeous. I'm surprised I'm not having to beat men off at the door. 🤣🤣🤣

IncompleteSenten · 12/01/2024 20:25

Which sounds like a service I'd charge for but I didn't mean it like that

Cuppachuchu · 12/01/2024 20:25

There is a good reason we have them, and it's to repel germs and dirt.
Also, plucking them can create infections and can even result in serious illness (your brain is right behind there).

Jeannie88 · 12/01/2024 20:30

Tbh I've never seen this! I would imagine removing those nostril hairs would help one to breathe more easily?

Thedogscollar · 12/01/2024 20:31

There might be something about you that grosses us all out.
Why are people so judgemental about other people's bodies 🙄

Sapphire387 · 12/01/2024 20:33

Oh I love it when my DH gets a stray nose hair or five and I can get my tweezers out.

VeryHungrySeaCucumber · 12/01/2024 20:35

There's nothing wrong with body hair of any type so long as it, and the rest of the person, are clean.

You just have a skewed idea of what 'taking care of oneself' means - many people do.

Lots of articles in the press about why it's bad to pluck nosehairs, by the way. People can trim if they like. Or not. Let them do them and you do you, eh?

Do you secretly hate him 😂
