I bloody love other people's shopping lists. It's getting proper niche since mobiles though. Our family business is a little shop and I used to love going through the baskets looking for lists. I had LOADS of them saved but the harddrive packed in and I lost them all 😭

OneTC · 06/01/2024 13:59

Your second not sure is sausages I think

RainbowZebraWarrior · 06/01/2024 14:03

Oh how fab.

After the last shopping list thread, I started adding weird stuff to the bottom of mine like 'foxes noses' or 'left-handed bananas' and leaving the list in the bottom of my trolley.

MadamVastra · 06/01/2024 14:03

I love a list

I'm guessing the aptimel is to counteract the effects of the red and white wine 😊

CharlotteStreetW1 · 06/01/2024 14:03

Well found!

Do you think it's mince meat as in beef or sweet as in mince pies?

I shop for dinner most nights on the way home from work. My shopping bag is full of little lists!

Looking at last night's, the only vaguely cryptic things would be "glue" and "something nice".

I do a lesson in school where I give the kids a shopping list and they have to make up the story of the person it belongs to. Have had some great writing from it.

Malacath · 06/01/2024 14:05

From what I can read of it:
Optimel (yoghurt drink)
Cottage cheese
Cress
Roast chicken fillet (cold sliced meat for sandwiches)
Ham
Sausage something ("worst" means sausage)
Cervelat (cold cut a bit like salami but made of beef and pork, and no garlic in it)
Roast mince (cold sliced meat for sandwiches)
Curry (a sauce)
Eco bags
Some sort of peach iced tea
Sandwiches Pellegrino
Crate of beer
? Naturo duck - seems to be some type of dog food?
Dinner tonight
Red wine
White wine

Would love to have a little wander around Albert Heijn!

Davros · 06/01/2024 14:11

I wonder what they mean by "curry"?

LlynTegid · 06/01/2024 14:12

What no bitterballen?

OneTC · 06/01/2024 14:16

I really liked the small neighborhood supermarkets we visited on a recent trip to the Netherlands, like a Sainsbury's local but with Lovely fresh baked goods, cheeses, cold meats, ready meals, salads. More like Waitrose quality butnot as expensive. The DSs still talk about the cakes and apple pie. There seemed to be one within walking distance wherever you were.
It was similar in Copenhagen actually but they had more worthy food ( they seem obsessed with muesli and health foods) and more liquorice.
Shopping in supermarkets is one of my favourite holiday things even though it's a chore at home!

Probably curry sauce. Its like ketchup and you put it on your frikandel and chips.

bumblebeessarecool · 06/01/2024 14:32

Optimel is brand of low fat yogurts. They make yogurt drinks as well

51Pegasusb · 06/01/2024 14:35

Pretty much what Malacath has said

Curry- is a herby ketchup sauce in a bottle usually , we buy the Hela stuff. It's nice on a frikandel.

I'm just waiitng for my AH delivery 😀

It's not even a trip to France if you don't go to a Carrefour the size of a small country

With Dutch being quite similar to German I assumed 2 was some sort of cheese, because it has the German word for cheese, Käse, at the end.
I initially read the first part as Hühen but it might actually be Hütten, meaning Hüttenkäse would be Cottage Cheese.

EDIT - Sorry I thought you mean second item, but realise you mean second in bracket, so yes, some sort of sausage (Wurst).

Wellhellooooodear · 06/01/2024 14:45

I think item number 6 is Naice Ham!

Davros · 06/01/2024 14:46

We used to love going to Billa in Austria. I recently bought Chip Shop Curry Sauce in M&S, Devine!

Perhapsanorhertimewouldbebetter · 06/01/2024 14:47

Is Dutch 'Curry' like the German Curry Ketchup, a mix of curry and ketchup, or different?

I wasn't very clear, it was the cervelat I was talking about

WhoStoleYourHighHorse · 06/01/2024 14:58

Oh how I love Albert Heijn! The only one here is on the other side of town and I don't have a car.

Oh right.
(sorry)

IpanemaCaipirinha · 06/01/2024 15:13

Dh always brings back a large plastic bottle of curry sauce from NL. I always get some proper sambal oelek and nasi goreng spice mix.

Looks like red AND white wine tonight! Wat leuk.

Havanananana · 06/01/2024 15:35

Obviously fake - no Muisjes or Hagelslag 😋
