A member of my family belongs to the etension rebellion group and was recently arrested for causing a disturbance and criminal damage. I feel very uneasy about this and it is nothing short of hooliganism.

I spoke to this family member and they said before they do anything they are briefed as to the consequences of their actions etc. They did not feel as they had done anything wrong and tried to justify their actions as correct. They were arrested and taken to court and heavilly fined. I do not want to mix with a hooligan and would never get involved in such an action but they said if they sat back and dothing then nothing would ever change and hey think it is ok to go and spray pain on a public building and say oh its ok the paint is washable. It cost £300 to get the paint off the building and my family member said it was ok as the paint was washale. I think they were simply trying to justify themselves and cover their back and I am still very upset about it all and want nothing more do do with then. I would not dream of doing anything like this

Am I over reacting

This family member being a member of this activist group was the end of the line for me, It was the last straw in a number of other things I was not happy about with this person so I have not cut all ties

And that article proves what exactly? That some people agree with you? Whoopee, go you!

I want there to be a habitable planet for my children to live on. We have a government that is accelerating the destruction of the environment. Writing letters isn't going to cut it with this lot.

And yes, I have personally been inconvenienced by Extinction Rebellion protests. I still support them.
