When do school's go back, generally

Ours is the 8th

DS is back to 6th form college on 2nd January (Bristol). I'm not sure when the local schools go back (we live in a neighbouring council area).

8th (Kent). Last day was 19th.

One on the 4th one 9th. Both broke up on the same day - 22nd.

3rd here (Cumbria). We broke up on the 19th.

Same

Last day was 19th Dec, go back on Thursday 4th. Cornwall.

Back the 9th.

Back on 9th, as 8th is inset day.

we have inset on 8th and 9th so kids back the 10th. My daughter goes back the 9th due to inset on 8th

Very badly planned I feel! Feels far too late.

8th. I've booked this week off work, bliss. Would far rather have this week off than pre Christmas, it helps beat the January blues.

We finished on 22nd. I'm back on 8th for Inset, my daughter the 9th.

Tomorrow and I think I have the start of flu, I feel awful, but am too embarrassed to not go in and teach my classes so will start lesson planning shortly.

Yes I could have done it over the holidays, but I've been caring for my Dad whose condition has rapidly declined over the past month bless him. So it's been non stop. But I am looking forward to seeing my classes. Plus I have spent time with my own children this holiday, which is unusual, as I usually work. I'm just going to do extra long hours this week to catch up.

Tomorrow here. Eurgh.

We finished on 15th and go back on the 9th. Three weeks off.

The school I teach at and most of the ones in our area go back on the 8th. We didn't finish until the 22nd.

This is in the Greater Manchester area but I do know neighbouring towns to ours that finished on the 15th an go back tomorrow (2nd) or 3rd.

I'd far rather finish later and have the time after Christmas.

Saying that, though, I think I’m ready to get back to routine. Just the small matter of all my planning and trying to tidy up the destruction in the house.

Tomorrow…God help us all! I hate that I’m going to have to take the decorations down today. I can’t bear going back into work with it all still up. Feels far too soon!

Finished on the 22nd and back on the 9th as 8th is in service for staff.

Oh and I actually have all uniforms and pe kits ready, which is a win! I know most people get them washed straight away but I’m usually scrabbling around at the end of the hols.

2nd 😭 it’s too early!

And those of us with children who aren't going back until the 8th aren't pleased either 🤣
