Easter Eggs!? FFS

VanityDiesHard · 30/12/2023 19:11

Sorry, I'm not normally one to bother about these things but I really think that having Easter eggs in the shops before NYE is taking the piss. At least wait until the first week of January! I know that Easter is slightly earlier in 2024 than it sometimes is (31st of March) but this is too much.

YABU Get over it, who cares!
YANBU WTF!?

Ignore it. But people will be buying them, otherwise they wouldn't put them out.

OhnowIUnderstand · 30/12/2023 19:12

I haven’t seen them, but just ignore them. You don’t have to buy everything you see in a shop. 😅

AhBiscuits · 30/12/2023 19:13

It's the same every year and there's been loads of threads on it.

00100001 · 30/12/2023 19:13

They were out on Boxing Day

HermioneWeasley · 30/12/2023 19:13

They sell. That’s why shops put them out.

Of course not, and I won't be. It just gets my goat is all. I love Easter but to me it is a celebration of Spring, and seeing all the pretty pastelly eggs is so jarring when it is freezing, sleety and dark outside.

It isn't the same every year, at least not where I live. I have never seen them before New Year before.

Easter eggs have been put on sale bixing day onwards for years

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 30/12/2023 19:16

Shops basically just fill their seasonal aisle with the next seasonal stuff...they did the same with christmas stuff after halloween

Yes, same with threads about how early Christmas stuff comes out, every year 🤣

I do! They taste much nicer than normal chocolate so i buy them instead until easter

Poorlycatadvicewanted · 30/12/2023 19:16

They are just being really organised. Only organised thing in the UK any more... 🤣

I don’t have a list of names and addresses.

you seem oddly worked up about this.

You’re bothered by eggs sitting on a shelf in a supermarket? 😬

They'll still be there closer to Easter for you to see when it’s warmer and lighter. 🤷🏻‍♀️Just ignore them til then.

My friend visits family abroad early in the new year for 2 months every year. She often takes Easter eggs from here over to them.

Crinkle77 · 30/12/2023 19:20

I don't mind one bit. Reminds me that spring and lighter nights will are on the way.

Not really, the thread is lighthearted. I am genuinely a bit surprised, though. As I said, they aren't usually out this early where I am.

tinklylaugh01 · 30/12/2023 19:23

They always go out straight after Christmas. Don’t buy them if you don’t like them. Every single ‘occasion’ is just another excuse to make money, why are you even remotely surprised?

chrisntmas · 30/12/2023 19:34

We've done the birth, so now it's the death's turn

Moreorlessmentallystable · 30/12/2023 20:09

I hate it. It's just another way of pushing people to buy buy buy. It feels the year is so rushed, and every year it gets worse.

Calabou · 30/12/2023 20:10

Wow, I was surprised by the premature Valentines cards yesterday!

Nineteendays · 30/12/2023 20:12

I’ve been eating white cream eggs and mini eggs since the start of December- the shop down the road has been stocking them for weeks. Not full on Easter eggs yet though. I’m hoping to see some malteaser bunnies soon- disappointed with the lack of (full size and not mint) malteaser reindeers around this Christmas.

MadeOfAllWork · 30/12/2023 20:12

Like I say on this thread every time it comes up I remember seeing Easter eggs being put out in Christmas Eve in Woolworths.
Just because you’ve never noticed it before it doesn’t make it new.

00100001 · 30/12/2023 20:12

People buy them early because they run out quickly. The number ordered and made is limited.

Plus everyone seems to buy them for everyone these days, gone are the days where kids got an egg from parents. Not they get them from auntie uncle, cousins, friends, granny etc as well as Easter presents.... And Easter trees and egg hunts and visits from the Easter Bunny all sorts

treacledan71 · 30/12/2023 20:14

It's so people will buy them, eat them then have to get more. Just like the tins of sweets they put out in August for Xmas!
