Gypsy Rose Blanchard

So Gypsy Rose was granted early release and left prison a couple of days ago.

I’ve noticed really bizarre behaviour all over social media regarding her… people calling her ‘iconic’, making memes out of her, begging her to get TikTok asap. Basically acting like the whole thing is lighthearted entertainment for them.

I think she needs to be left alone and this is potentially quite damaging for her to come out of prison to. The woman must still be working through a hell of a lot of trauma and instability. It makes me feel really weird seeing all these posts on a big scale.

Is she out now? I hadn't heard.

That was one messed up dynamic. I hope she's in a much better place now and has received sufficient rehabilitation.

Discomboobulated · 30/12/2023 14:13

I feel for the vulnerable lad with ASD that she coerced into committing her crime. He will never be released and clearly had sen. I'm not condoning what he did for one moment.

OldTinHat · 30/12/2023 14:14

I've just read she's married. Let's hope her husband is kind and supportive during her parole.

Newyearnamechangehere · 30/12/2023 14:16

It's gross. She's being fetishised as some sort of liberated icon. She is definitely a victim but also one who may have been less helpless than appearances showed - a secret relationship for a year, planned a murder etc.
her husband is questionable solely for the fact he started a relationship with a prisoner from strangers - dynamic is weird. She's got a bloody Insta and a book deal already.

Really he said he wanted to rape her mother.

Discomboobulated · 30/12/2023 14:20

@DragonFly98. Oh I didn't realise that, read several articles and watched the two documentaries. I take it back if tgars what he said.

PurplePansy05 · 30/12/2023 14:22

I didn't realise that re her bf either.

I watched the series and read several articles about her and I completely agree, she must be mentally and emotionally damaged from all of this and should be left to deal with her issues privately.

yeah, he admitted this (which is recorded) and gypsy rose talked him out of it. He also said he doesn’t regret it and he’d do it again. He is a danger and if it wasn’t Dee Dee, it could very well be someone else.

All of this. It’s very unsettling.

How depressing. Cue new movie, book, tell all chat show circuit. Horrible story and I don't know if she could ever recover, what a mess. Hope she can do something worthwhile with her time and raise awareness of Munchausens by Proxy, more common than perceived.

I don’t think starting further discussion about her on a forum like this is going to help, is it? You’re part of the problem.

ClottedCreamScone · 30/12/2023 14:40

YANBU, it’s a worrying trend. She has never had anything close to a normal life and is vulnerable because of that. She could so easily be taken advantage of. I don’t know if she really has anyone sensible looking out for her.

hopefully she’s had good rehabilitative therapy in prison but who knows. I think she could very easily end up in a lot of difficulty now.

Er @Newyearnamechangehere

So what if a relationship with a prisoner started? It's not unusual

Mirrormeback · 30/12/2023 14:56

I'm just glad she's finally able to get on with her life at age 32

She's waited a long sad life for that

I think it's incredibly weird that of all the available people you choose to start interactions with a convicted murderer. Sorry if that stings.

Iam4eels · 30/12/2023 15:06

She comes across as a very damaged young woman, she should never have been jailed to begin with and should have been in psychiatric custody rather than the penal system.

I don’t think there is any issue in discussing the case. It is all over the news and a very real story of abuse and munchhausens (not sure if I’ve spelled that correctly??) so there is no harm in awareness of Gypsys story being heard. Im just disturbed by the way people are talking about it across social media, endless memes of Gypsy, calling her queen, iconic, mother etc., begging her to start making TikToks.. given the nature of the case and who she actually is it’s just bizarre.

OP posts:
Wellshellsbells · 30/12/2023 15:10

I 100% agree with this.I actually think he is a bigger victim in the case.

Newyearnamechangehere · 30/12/2023 15:12

Wasted no time in setting the direction of travel if this is the real account

Gypsy Rose Blanchard
OhmygodDont · 30/12/2023 15:13

Pretty sure I read somewhere her husband is a bit of a sort anyway. Not that she’s living with him anyway.

shes been fetishised or idolised since the day this hit the news.

Should she have got someone else to do her dirty work? No. But then again he wanted to do even more to her mother and she talked him out of it.

she’s already got a insta and a TikTok made before she left jail ready. She’s being followed by camera crews for her first new documentary as well as writing a book.

Whilst it may not be that uncommon, of course it's unusual (ie odd) to start a relationship and marry someone whilst they're in prison for murder.

WhatsInStoreFor2024 · 30/12/2023 15:19

@n

lol 'sorry if that STINGS' omg that gave me a good laugh. Why would it 'sting'??

People meet people over the net all the time. Quite normal to email

EndOfMyTether11 · 30/12/2023 15:21

He wanted to RAPE dee! It was only because gyspy told him no and agreed he could sleep with her instead he didn't.
He's not a victim.

She's the victim, she's openly said she wishes she could go back in time and put her mum in prison, she had no means of escaping at the time she was desperate.

Newyearnamechangehere · 30/12/2023 15:22

@WhatsInStoreFor2024
Well naturally I assumed you had taken it as an attack on your own relationship as otherwise it was a weirdly defensive comment from you. Who cares? We disagree.
