AIBU to think this explains a lot...or not

OP posts:
Hermittrismegistus · 29/12/2023 01:48

Explains what?

Thedogscollar · 29/12/2023 01:50

Absolutely.

DixonD · 29/12/2023 01:51

I know what you mean. I thought the same.

LorlieS · 29/12/2023 01:51

Well... it explains why Christmas Eve was in a Sunday and Boxing Day on a Tuesday I guess! 🤣

ShippingNews · 29/12/2023 02:03

Yep, that tends to happen every few years.

JaneIves · 29/12/2023 02:09

Everyone gets confused during gooch week.

DramaAlpaca · 29/12/2023 02:19

Probably

IAcceptCookies · 29/12/2023 02:24

Eh?

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 29/12/2023 02:33

I get it. I don't know why other posters need to be so nasty

And the purple spots landed on the elephant

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 29/12/2023 02:34

It explains why bin day was Wednesday

TrickorTreacle · 29/12/2023 02:45

What is the point of this thread? 25th December moves up by 1 day per year (2 days if it's a leap year).

GrannyRose15 · 29/12/2023 02:56

And it will be on a Wednesday next year.

heyheyheyy · 29/12/2023 03:00

I was at work today and was struggling to tell what day of the week it was as it felt like a Monday

CryptidBunny · 29/12/2023 03:19

Um, obviously. Christmas isn't always on a Sunday that wouldn't make ANY sense, what are they (no clue on who 'they' would even be) supposed to do, make Christmas on the 24th so it can be on a Sunday? No

Trulywonderful · 29/12/2023 03:23

Monday
Took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday, we chilled on Sunday

LlynTegid · 29/12/2023 07:09

It does seem different at Christmas depending on the day of the week it falls. Perhaps it is when the school holiday is, or when people are not at work. Remember the threads about children still being at school until the 22nd, or moans about not returning to school until the 8th.

A Monday Christmas in a way means a week with few people at work, a midweek one means two weeks with only limited number of days.

Whats gooch week?

NotFastButFurious · 29/12/2023 07:13

I’m not sure it explains anything…..

WhatNoRaisins · 29/12/2023 07:14

It's better than Easter which varies too much for my brain to like.

JaneIves · 29/12/2023 07:33

@chompargh Gooch week - The bit between.... Christmas and NY.

Gooch is a slang term, have a look at Urban dictionary.

tiredandolderthanithought · 29/12/2023 07:38

I agree!!

Schools broke up late and then we were bang into Christmas. I don't like a Monday Christmas!

AliceOlive · 29/12/2023 07:40

I overheard someone in an office say every day this week felt like a Monday.

PriOn1 · 29/12/2023 07:43

Spare a thought for those in countries where you don’t get a day off if the bank holiday falls on a weekend. At least they’ll have had a proper break this Christmas.

Goatymum · 29/12/2023 08:31

i liked it as I meant I could do loads of prep on Xmas eve and dh could help too!
I’ve got this week off and been off since 22 Dec so a nice long run! Not complaining
