Adult ds visited yesterday. Discussing the Lotto, telling him I had put a few lucky dips on over Christmas! He was saying he had kept the same chosen numbers since moving out of home 4 years ago. His gf also does Lotto with her own chosen numbers.. Her grandma saw their tickets on the table last week and asked why they had the same chosen numbers? Another odd thing both of them chose those numbers in the November of the same year. They hadn't even met them. Quite a recent relationship and don't live together..

A bank gave me and my husband the same PIN. Two totally separate accounts, one opened about 15 years before the other.

We also found out that he and I passed our driving test on the same morning in different parts of the country, long before we met.

I guess this means we'll never win the lottery!

Xmasisoffsantahascovid · 21/12/2023 12:13

My dc have dates of birth that go on from each other. 17/6.6/3.3/11. 31/1.

Today my brother gave my daughter a kalimba for Xmas and my sister bought my brother a kalimba. A fairly unusual gift!!
Today Santa gave my other daughter a scooter and my brother gave her a tiny scooter for her favourite soft toy - he didn't know she was going to get a scooter for Xmas!!

We were on a cruise in Florida earlier this year and got chatting to a couple while waiting for a table in a restaurant. The woman said to my DP "I've got a photo of you on my phone" and proceeded to show him a photo of them on a boat in St Lucia, with my DP in the background taken on a cruise 3 years prior!

Also we bought a house in a town 90 miles from my hometown, which is quite obscure and no ones really heard of it. Turns out the seller lived there 30 years ago and knew it well!

EmpressSoleil · 25/12/2023 21:39

I had a dream that I had an infestation of something in my living room and the "things" hatched and they were all kermit the frog, loads of them all around the room 😂the next day I travelled abroad and was on a tram into the town centre. It paused outside a jewellers and the windows were full of kermit the frogs! It was weird both on the level of coincidence and why on earth would a jewellers be using multiple kermits in their window display!

My Ds was born on the 21st then my Dd was also born on 21st. My three nieces also all have birthdays on 21st (all different months)

happinessischocolate · 25/12/2023 21:54

My dds birthday is 21 days after mine, my ds birthday is 21 days before their dads 🤷‍♀️

MuthaHubbard · 25/12/2023 21:54

I met my now DH on the Sunday of an August bank hol weekend. Both of us married our first spouses on the same day (but years previously obvs) - the Sunday of that year's August bank holiday

Unicorn34 · 25/12/2023 22:07

Iloveburgerswaymorethanishould · 25/12/2023 23:03

crap compared to others on here, I woke up in agony last Sunday with sciatica. Could hardly walk… I rang my dad for one of our regular chats. He went on to tell me he started with sciatica Sunday and could hardly walk….

VesperLind · 25/12/2023 23:08

Pretty much everyone in my DH’s family was born on a Sunday, including our DS.
Also, at a jubilee party I sat next to a man I had never met who is a similar age to me and lived in the same street as us when I was growing up - in a town 100 miles away from the small village where we both live now, round the corner from each other!

I had a really bad nightmare some years ago where I was attacked by a German shepherd and was bitten on the hand, as I looked down my fingers were missing and my hand was a bloody pulp.
My DM rang me the next morning telling me my DB living in USA ( I'm in uk) had been involved in an accident with a buzz saw and amputated two fingers from his hand... the crazy thing is we are not that close. 😮

GrandParade · 26/12/2023 00:03

In about 2010 I ran into someone I used to sit next to in maths lessons in Ireland in 1987, and hadn’t seen since, under a tree in an obscure spot in Uttar Pradesh.

When 3yo dd was in the bath the other day she mentioned she wanted swimming goggles, so I ordered some that evening. They arrived Friday and she wanted to go swimming there and then. The baths weren't open then so I booked us.to go on the Saturday. She told me her friend 'Lucy' was going too. I smiled and said nothing.

On the way the next day I remarked that we'd met someone we knew each time we had been swimming, and idly wondered who we'd meet that day. "Lucy" was her reply. I said nothing.

As I pulled into the carpark there was a car there suspiciously like Lucy's dad's. I went to investigate and the whole family were there, ready for swimming.

Her mother had booked it the day before, after my dd had seen hers, so it's not like the two girls had discussed it. There are only 20 places per session, and three sessions that day, so the odds that we would all be there together were not terribly high. I was gobsmacked.

Disillusioned11 · 26/12/2023 00:19

I was bought up in a little known African country that almost no one outside of the country has head of and lived in a town in that country that most people who live in the country haven’t heard of. When I started my first teaching job at a primary school in small town in Soith West England within a month, two other teachers had joined who had lived in the same town as children. I have never met anyone before or since who has even heard of this town and most don’t know the country.

Friend taught in China for one summer as a student summer job. In her first job as a qualified teacher, one child in her class was someone she’s taught in China in summer school

Was chatting to a dad of one of my sons school friends turns out we rented the exact same flat (I moved in when he moved out) 15 years ago in a totally different area to where we both live now.

Few weeks ago, saw my ex for the first time in, god knows how long, maybe 3 years. We were at a bar, just happened to turn around and there he was staring at me. That moment then and there, 'shout out to my ex' started to play. Never heard that song played before but it just made me giggle. You couldn't write it

hilariousnamehere · 26/12/2023 00:45

Visited a new work friend at her very rural home for the first time, she had a friend round as I arrived, chatting at her kitchen table. As she went to introduce us we realised we knew each other already - from Brownies 25 years previously and 150 miles away, and no contact since age 12 Grin

larkstar · 26/12/2023 00:49

I was on a management training course in the late 80's - one night a week for 13 weeks I think. In the first session the first exercise was to turn to the person sitting next to us and chat for 10 minutes to find out at much at you could about that person and then to relay that back to the group. The people attending were from many different companies. After a minute or so of talking to each other we both acknowledged having the same feeling that we recognised each other from somewhere. We started going back through our work histories and were baffled until we had gone back 15 years in order to find the point of connection. While waiting for my GCSE results I had had a temporary summer job working in a supermarket stacking shelves - the guy I was talking to had sacked me on the spot for deliberately splashing a customer by plunging my mop into a bucket after I had just mopped the aisle I was working on - it was the end of the day and she walked down the aisle leaving muddy footprints all over the place.

In another strange coincidence another person on that course, who told a very emotional and private personal story about having knocked down and killed a young boy who ran out into the road, is someone that I got to know about 15 years after we had been on that course. At the time, he explained that he had never told this story to anyone outside immediate family and close friends. 15 years later, when I was first getting to know him (as a friend of a friend) I had a feeling I recognised him from somewhere and when the topic of that course came up that's when the penny dropped but I've never said to him that I was on that course and that we'd met before - he clearly doesn't remember me but I don't remember us even speaking to each other while on the course. The story of that accident has never come up (he hasn't brought it up so I'm not going to) and we've known each other for about 20 years now - not as close friends but as friends of friends who meet at parties generally although we've been on many walking trips together - just 3 or 4 of us.

My sister and I both got our nails done on Sat in different salons in different counties and neither of us knew the other was getting them done. We both got a wine colour...the exact same shade.

Several years ago, I attended a wedding. Four years later of the wedding, I began semi-dating one of the individuals who had also been present at that wedding. One day, as we were looking at some wedding photos from our friends' special day. In this odd photo, the person I am semi-dating is in the foreground, and in the background, aligned perfectly with their head but above it, is an image of me. Very odd.

I was watching Dr Who today (25th) and then I came on MN to find a thread started several days ago on 21st about coincidences.

And now you will all be eaten as babies by goblins.

My husband bought a new car for when our 1st daughter came along, and the lot number on the car was 317, and she was born @ 3:17am. Both my parents are born on the 5th, of their month and on a Friday. And both DH parents are the 28th. My children's birth days are 1st born Tuesday, 2nd born Wednesday and 3rd born Thursday. My mum and 3 out of 4 of her siblings birthdays are a 5 with one also born on the 5th the other 2 are the 25th with the other sibling being the 24th so one day out. Our 1st daughter's birthday is the same as my Nannas, and my brothers last daughter is the same as my Mum's and also born on a Friday. My brother's children's birthdays are 5th, 2 x 26th (twins), 27th and 28th (also twins) Also our youngest was born on the 25th as well. Our eldest daughter is all evens 22/10/14 and our youngest is all odds 25/05/23.

My husband lived at a house that I used to pass everytime was on the bus going to the local town/school/college etc and I used to dream what it would be like to live there. Didn't know it's where he lived till he took me home. There a quite a few more coincidences between us too, but I would be here all night writing them down! It's strange world!

Morrisons01 · 26/12/2023 01:28
