To ask who pays?

Two sisters

S1 23, works in a apprenticeship role, lives at home contributes a small amount to bills

S2 21, at uni had a part time min wage job, gets a small amount from parents

S1 had some Xmas presents in a bag near her door. S2 opened her door (aggressively in s1 opinion) knocked the bag, broke a £10 cup.

S1 feels S2 should replace as it's her fault

S2 feels S1 shouldn't have left a bag near her door

Who pays?

S2 pays obviously

Sister 2 as she must have opened the door really hard to break a mug.

Seriously it’s a tenner… whoever breaks it replaces it. Is this the hill worth dying on?

strawberry2017 · 20/12/2023 10:11

The person who broke it.
Then tell them both to grow up.

Can’t help but think that the “small amount” S1 is contributing is actually paying for the “small amount” OP gives to s2 (who also has a job), at uni.

In which case, if I were s1, I’d definitely want a new mug with all the trimmings. 🙂
