to want to keep my DC away from their cousin

bigbumhole · 15/03/2008 14:51

because the language is foul and im worried it'll brush off on my DC (24 months old) and 6 weeks old (not a problem yet!).

He says the most horrid words that makes my skin crawl. He is 23 month old most recent phrases are.....

"fuck off idiot"
"you're a bastard"
"i hate you prick"
"fuck off, MINE!"
....i could go on but i'll spare you.

There's 3 weeks between my DC and him. We've spoken to the parents but they seem to think it's not that much of a problem and their response is often "we've been trying to stop the bad language but what can you do eh? Kids nower days, who'd have em?" in a light hearted, almost giggly, manner.

The language makes me sick, and it leaves me heartbroken almost to hear such foulness coming out of such a young child. I would be truley horrified if my DC started using such filth.

We see them every Saturday morning up MILs so we cant really avoid them as Saturday morning is the only time MIL is free to see her grandchildren.

Sorry not sure what i'm after but im just so upset and feel like im stuck in a hole.

OP posts:

I have been judged so many times on this website. Sorry but I cant take seriously that I must be a vile person because I pointed out along with other posters that it was ironic that 'bighairybumhole' was objecting to her nephews use of language.

Go on, do your worst .

niceglasses · 15/03/2008 18:25

Kpowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Now, pass the wine.

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 18:26

I can take it. Look at my name!

niceglasses · 15/03/2008 18:27

What his Achillies heel then?

Samson had his barnet.....wots yours?

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 18:29

It's Saturday night. I don't have an achilles heel. I am not a sensitive flouncer despite an earlier comment about my apparent sensitivity!

ALMummy · 15/03/2008 18:30

Lol niceglasses.

Who said you were vile hercules? I said you were judgemental. Vile is your word.

It was bigbumhole by the way. Where did hairy sprout from ?

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 18:31

Well, I guess if I have several unpleasant traits that must make me vile. Just wondering what you think my other unpleasant traits are. I admit to the judging one.

niceglasses · 15/03/2008 18:33

I don't know you so I wouldn't know. I bet your not vile at all........and at least you admit to being judgemental. Maybe the rest of us just PRETEND not to be. You know, doth protest too much and all that.

Me? Urgh, its bugging me at the minute that I seem to have no willpower.

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 18:34

I am actually a very unjudgemental person. But couldnt help but comment on this thread.

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 18:35

although I wouldnt say it was judgemental in the sense of thinking the op must swear constantly and not mind her own kids doing so.

ALMummy · 15/03/2008 18:38

Just have a quick look back over your posts. Sure you will come up with something. You sound like you are stewing there a little bit Hercules.

KimiKilledTheEasterBunny · 15/03/2008 18:43

Where did they get it from in the first place?

DS1 did say bloodyhell for two solid weeks after hearing FIL say it one day, thankfully he stopped, but I was not happy about it

ALMummy · 15/03/2008 18:51

How on earth do you come up with this?

"the op must swear constantly and not mind her own kids doing so"

Do you really reach that conclusion from the fact that she calls herself Bigbumhole? I must confess I am out of words. Good night.

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 18:52

Perhaps you need to reread my post...

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 18:53

or you could just choose a part of it and quote it pretending it was the whole post....

niceglasses · 15/03/2008 18:56

fanjo seems ok tho.

There is a poster currently called something fanjo.

I guess its ok if its a in joke or something.

nappyaddict · 15/03/2008 19:03

why would the op's name of bigbumhole make anyone think they swear constantly and not mind their own dc doing it? it's not like her name is bighairycunt is it?

ALMummy · 15/03/2008 19:05

Well here is your full post Hercules. I am searching to find a different meaning to it.

"although I wouldnt say it was judgemental in the sense of thinking the op must swear constantly and not mind her own kids doing so."

georgiemama · 15/03/2008 19:05

How funny, so there is something wrong with having some derivitive of mummy in your username on a parenting forum? That is ironic.

I wouldn't be here if I wasn't Georgie's mummy.

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 19:06

Not sure what you don't get tbh. I was pointing out it wasn't judgemental in the sense of thinking she swore all the time.

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 19:07

I was using that as an example that people do often judge according to posters names. I also said I had never posted on threads about posters using mum or mummy in their name. Just using it as an example. But read what you want to read into it.

PellMell · 15/03/2008 19:09

Oh dear I'm sorry Bigbumhole
I didn't word my post very well at all.
I knew it might appear unfair.... because you deserve to be heard whatever your name

My comment was purely about the irony, coincidence etc etc.
It was a bit of sarcasm on my part and I apologise.

ALMummy · 15/03/2008 19:14

I am not reading anything into it. I am just reading it. My understanding of your post is that it would be safe to assume that the OP, in light of her choice of nickname - Bigbumhole - must swear constantly and not mind her own kids doing so. You implied that I had purposely misunderstood your post and was only quoting part of it to mislead. So where have I gone wrong?

hercules1 · 15/03/2008 19:15

It's the four words 'wouldn't say it was' you're misreading.

nappyaddict · 15/03/2008 19:22

so you don't think it is judgemental to assume because of one's username bigbumhole that they swear all the time? i think that's pretty judgemental.
