Two weeks. The second week is better but you still have it.

Cnidarian · 19/12/2023 07:19

First time one week, second time 5 weeks, I'm just topping mine off with a festive dose of covid for good measure and frankly could do without it all by now.

happyhouse2 · 19/12/2023 07:20

😭😭😭 I can't imagine ever feeling well again, it's dreadful

WithACatLikeTread · 19/12/2023 07:20

Just to say it could be flu. Yes you can have flu and still move about.

YourNameGoesHere · 19/12/2023 07:21

Going by all those I know who've had similar I unfortunately. Not what you wanted to hear I'm sure but it's really knocking people sideways.

Shareaway11 · 19/12/2023 07:33

I'm on day 9, feel much better in myself but sound horrific with this awful cough

curiouscat1987 · 19/12/2023 07:35

7 weeks and counting for me

Comedycook · 19/12/2023 07:37

We just had similar.
DD...3 days
Ds 4days
DH 2 days
Me..a week but I always seem to suffer more!

Illbeready · 19/12/2023 07:37

After a week I started to feel better but still had the cough. Two weeks later cough has mostly gone. Feel better soon.

Whinge · 19/12/2023 07:38

Sorry OP, but everyone I know who has been unlucky enough to have this (and it's quite a lot of people) has felt like death for at least 2 weeks. Xmas Sad Unfortunately some are still feeling awful 5 - 6 weeks later, but at least they are able to get up and get through the day.

CaputDraconis · 19/12/2023 07:38

Every time I think I'm getting better it knocks me sideways again. Currently on day 12 and got a raging fever, severe sinus pain, lots of snot and chesty cough.

TwoCoffeesPlease · 19/12/2023 07:40

I had/have this. Started with a headache and feeling generally tired, then I lost my voice but no sore throat. Now I feel fine in myself but coughing up a chunk of phlegm every morning since Saturday. It’s been a slow burn .

There’s still 6 days until Christmas op I’m sure you’ll feel better by then!

YourNameGoesHere · 19/12/2023 07:41

For some reason it cut out the integral part of my message which was meant to say about 3 weeks.

StrawberryWater · 19/12/2023 07:42

We all have covid.

Our Christmas is pretty much fucked.

Usernamechange1234 · 19/12/2023 07:42

Over two weeks, nearly three, still snuffling but nothing like I was. Worst cold I’ve ever had in my life! It was horrendous!

DuckWithOneWing · 19/12/2023 07:44

I've had it for 4.5 weeks so far

Whinge · 19/12/2023 07:45

I really hope the OP is one of the lucky ones and feels better, but if it's the same thing that's swept through my workplace then she's still going to feel awful and have very little appetite. Xmas Sad

Vicarofdibley123 · 19/12/2023 07:55

How I felt on day 3 was indescribably awful. Day 4 the fever stopped and I hurt all over but gradually improved.

My appetite isn't great, but it'll do me no harm. 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks everyone for your replies. Looks like it's a lingering awfulness. I hope everyone feels better soon ❤️

It’s been 2 weeks for me , I am feeling much better today ( day 15 ) but it’s been awful
I still have a cough , but I can breathe through my nose again now
TMI alert , I’ve never produced so much snot ! 😪 grim , and it’s triggered my asthma
No one else in the house caught it though

Usernamechange1234 · 19/12/2023 08:18

Ha @Applerumleandcustard that’s exactly what I was going to say! There’s just so much snot never had a cold like it!

Winniespooh · 19/12/2023 08:19

I've been ill since the last week in November and still not 100%, at least the hacking cough that had me fearing for my pelvic floor has calmed down a bit.

Missed 2 Christmas parties, breakfast with Santa with the kids and I'm so behind on Christmas prep because I've been in bed by 9.30pm most nights. Bloody awful.

Saymyname28 · 19/12/2023 08:22

I've had it two weeks. I could say I feel marginally better at most. honestly sometimes I've had such bad coughing fits I'm worried I'm gonna have an accident. And my neck has completely seized. I see no end of this .

CocoonofDavid · 19/12/2023 08:30

I have it at the min- so much snot!

But the worst is the sinus pressure. Really bad ear ache (which I get a lot), but unusual for me is the jaw pain. Much much worse overnight, it’s waking me up multiple times a night as I feel like I’ve been punched. I’m guessing it’s from sinus pressure?

I was really hoping I’d be better by today/tomorrow (day 4) but it doesn’t sound like it!
