We had a huge argument at the weekend, we both said lots of nasty things and it was really awful 😞 I’ve tried and tried to save things but he always shuts me down and will never talk about things or hear me out. Whilst he was shouting me down, I started to get more upset and was shouting back and he said that he’d recorded me when we had an argument before and showed people and they agree I’m crazy

Aibu or is this a really wrong thing to do?

I strongly doubt he's actually done it, but I'd be leaving and telling him that's why. If he then says he hasn't done it, then I'd be saying well then you're a liar then and I still don't want to be with you.

This is a tactic of abuse, I would accept it as the whackign great red flag it is and get myself out of there. There is no healthy or loving relationship to be had with someone that uses threats of public shaming to get you to adapt your behaviour or to stop challenging him.

OP, I’m married to an arsehole like your H and I finally came to my senses when I discovered he was having an affair and he left to be with a woman many years my junior. I’m having counselling now and I realise how much abuse, including exactly what you are experiencing, I was put through.
