Health visitor insisting on coming

I have an appointment with the HV tomorrow and I text her to re arrange for when my son has had his 8 week vaccinations.

I live in a city where we are now having an outbreak of Whooping Cough so I am quite concerned about this.

The HV was supposed to be weighing my son and told me "she has to come and weigh him".
All other checks were done a few weeks ago and was fine.

I have been told that the HV service is optional and I dont appreciate being bullied into something I am not comfortable with.

Am I being unreasonable and how would I go about this as the HV is adamant that she is still coming round.

The HV is insistent on seeing you because she will be told off by her manager if she doesn't carry out enough mandatory checks/meet her targets.

If it is not convenient for you and you are happy with your baby's progress then you don't have to see her.

@LeakyPipes yes that is exactly how I feel.

Me and my partner did want to know if DS was growing OK so the visit was worth it in that respect.

The HV did say she was worried when she received my text about re scheduling.

The HV is a lovely lady and she said due to going on annual leave on Friday we would of had to go to the clinic, hence why she made sure to do the weighing two weeks early to avoid this.

We will probably have the 6/8 week check and than probably opt out of the service.

It is good though that the option is available to have him weighted monthly for 6 months due to DS being pre term.
